I have a lightsword in EffectsLab and i animated several shots with the lighsword, and in one shot i did a mask over a head (because the lightsword should be behind the head), now its working fine, but the mask is over the whole effect, but i only want the mask for about 30 frames (only for the shot with the head) and not for the whole thing? what can i do?

Thanks a lot

On the first frame that the mask is no longer needed you can either move the mask out of frame or turn its transparency down to zero, make sure to add a keyframe to the frame before that for the attributes you change though so it doesn't tween from the previous keyframes.

In other words the mask is out of the window (or 100% transparent) on keyframe number 1. Keyframe numbers 2 through 30 are on the head, and keyframe number 31 is out of the window (or 100% transparent).
