Hi, where can I find a preset for creating saber clashes like I seen in the movies? i read some old forum discussions and saw links, but they had expired.

If you're planning to make lightsabers, I'd check out this site:
http://www.ryan-w.com/ryan-w/tutorials.html

It was quite helpful for me anyway.

As you requested, a downloadable clash can be found here:

Hope this works!

Thanks for the help. I downloaded one, but it doesn't show up in the toolbox under effects. am I doing something wrong? Also, I am trying this on a demo at work, since the one I paid for is at home and FX doesn't allow us to load the software into more than one computer at a time.

Ok, I found it... I think. Question: how can you mannually move the clash exactly where you want it on the screen, and also reduce the size of it? In the preset, it looks like it is made of perhaps 10 caustic stars. How can I quickly move and alter the shape of each clash so as to not spend too much time. : ) smile

If you use:

You can just use it like stock footage, altering the scale rotation and position to where ever two lightswords hit.

Or you could click on "Optic Movement" under the effect, and adjust the position, scale, seed, rotation, etc. Check out the Video Tutorial on the Optic engine for a good overview.
