If so, post pics and stuff here. EDIT: I mean replicas or otherwise from movies, not just props you use in your own movies. razz I don't have any as of right now, but I have 3 props I hope to own one day. They're all replicas, however.

I have a Force FX lightsaber, it's not an exact replica but it's supposed to be pretty accurate.

er-no, I'm not sure I'd want to be the one walking that lot through US immigration - they get so tetchy over there...

As for the 3 replica props you want, FF, why not *make* them? You'd be surprised just how rough and ready real props are, so for authenticity try DIY!

Haha... I'll take your word for that wink

Gonna be in Arizona, then Nevada, then might come down to LA area. Will be back a couple of weeks later for a short time in Portland. I didn't make it down to proper west west coast (shoreline) LA last time, was going to come say oi to AJ and yourself.

Aye, I know! Last time I was held up for ages trying to explain my reasons for travel there. Seems like they just picked on me because I was explaining that I was visiting an old friend who used to live in England but now lives in the states. It's quite interesting to be put under the spotlight with questioning, even though I was completely fine with answering questions I found myself getting confused as they came thick and fast!

Don't worry - confused is the "right" response - sounding too slick, like you've planned your story, will make things all the worse!

They're all airsoft replicas except for the MG42. The MG is an actual WWII era gun thats been demilled so that anyone can own it.

The MG42 I purchased a few years back from www.IMA-USA.com , They're sold out of them now. The luger is actually a Walther P-38. P-38 replaced the Luger as the standard german military side arm. Dont worry, you're one of the many others that mistaken it for a luger. I got the P-38 from my local airsoft shop, its a gas blowback made by Maruzen.

I have a BB gun pistol that looks pretty real, but it isn't from any kind of movie or anything, we use it for movies though, you can see it in Night of the Hobo and Revenge of the Hobo, it's also used briefly in Vengeance but you can't really see what it looks like in that one.

If you mean mine, nah it's not a prop. That's a real one. Would probably be difficult finding actors to stand in front of that, huh. biggrin

Disclaimer on gun use: Just to let it be known, I'm just joking about people standing in front of real guns. I take firearms and firearm safety very seriously. I use fake or airsoft guns when filming with people. When I do use real guns it's strictly for loading and showing ammo for effect and is in a closed and controlled environment. In most cases I remove the firing pins for these situations...

That's a ridiculous comment. At no point has anyone said anything about killing people or anything else.

I own guns simply because I enjoy collecting and shooting them. That doesn't make me a killer nor does it give me the desire to kill.

I see nothing good about a gun. When hunting, you kill something. When defending yourself, you could severely injure or kill something. All they do is hurt and kill.

One of the "wanted" posters in "The Fugitive"

A 4" by 4" piece of carpet from the "Titanic" set.

And thats pretty much it.

I also have 3 frames of film from "Raiders of the lost ark" when he's being chased by the native people. Not really a prop but if sure is awsome.

I'm not sure about the UK, but I think as firearms as an unbelievable privilege to be able to defend yourself in trouble.
There was a diner in Texas when an insane man walked in with a AK-47 he killed 2 people but was shot dead by a lady that was carrying a pistol in her purse. unsure

Good lord, you are a selective listener. How was it "quite reactionist" for Bflat5 to post a rebuttal to a comment that was COMPLETELY off-base and sensationalist, because he and I posted pictures of (eek) baby-killing evil REAL guns?

What a perfectly naive statement. It became clear to me that when you began talking about hunting and self-defense, that you are completely un-aware of why the right to keep and bear arms should forever be one of the most coveted rights of all free people.

Think of it this way: The next time you hear a gun-nut say, "You can't have the rest without the 2nd," don't dismiss it as idle banter. Look into that, and you may have found the reason as to why there are 80 million people in this country who refuse to give up their guns.

We're never going to agree on this one...personally I'm sick of every teenage fanfilm (led by many studio films) being all about guns and continuing to glamourise shooting and death. If nothing else it shows a total lack of creativity most of the time.

D3L3T10N wrote:

Of course, if he hadn't had an AK-47 in the first place, everyone would have lived. People use this argument that having guns everywhere makes them feel safer, it's just not borne out by the statistics and evidence, which is why I can't entertain it as an argument.

Guns also encourage cowardly behaviour when you think about it - someone not brave enough to pick a fight can pick up a gun and 'become' powerful, whereas he'd perhaps have thought twice about going Columbine/whatever the latest school/wherever massacre is if he had to go in and fight face to face, or throw paint pots, etc. Now I know that'll cause extreme reactions on here with the NRA types, but think about the argument for a moment - I'm not going to come over and take your things off you, so you can relax and construct a valid defence - and I change my mind when I hear a good argument that convinces me, here's your chance!

Um... yeah. Other people posted airsoft guns that they had used in movies -- so I would've posted them too. Real guns can and often are used in movies as well, as they can... fire blanks, provide realistic character-weapon handling, etc. It's all about how you practice proper gun safety... and so I don't particularly think that it's taboo or "bad" for me to be posting a picture of a real firearm of mine in an online thread. I had no idea it would cause this much baseless emotion against it... but... my bad. You live and learn, I guess.

It's a utility that I implement in my movies as a prop -- safely. Just like those airsoft guns that people implement in their movies as props -- safely. Just, mine is a real evil baby-killing black rifle with a few shoulder things that go up, and so that makes it bad, taboo, and okay to bash, right?

Agreed and appreciated - thanks.

And as for movie props - mine are somewhat more innocent looking - I've got a bunch of lab coats and stethoscopes left over from when I needed to turn a handful of extras into doctors for under a tenner each!

Of course I did! Hah right after you called me out, stay with me here man. And yes, you were talking to me directly ha.

Bflat5 to post a rebuttal to a comment that was COMPLETELY off-base and sensationalist
Comment being singular, I figure you weren't speaking to the group as a whole ha. I know you're a smart guy, always dishing out computer facts and what not so you should know "not speaking to me directly" doesn't make sense ha. All I did was call you out for doing the same thing to me sir (Even tho I was joking the entire time).

Even? Sweeeet

I own an official not-so-limited edition reproduction of the shaun of the dead DVD as seen in the film Hot Fuzz.

This could have been a really cool thread. I couldn't give a flying toss about any of your opinions on guns to be honest, make a new thread and moan about it in there.

I feel bad for the guys that attempted to follow the topic and actually contributed. I'll check back later though to check out some more of your lots cool stuff!

I've got a couple replicas from the show "Smallville" - the octagonal key thing (featured in the show from season two onward) and the Journey Necklace from the episode "Relic." I may upload some images when I get home, but if anyone wants to see 'em, I used both in this video.
They're not exactly movie replicas, but spiffy nonetheless biggrin
