I am unable to chat unless I use a pc. It says it is looking up my host name, but then says it does not recognize me and shuts me out...

What browser are you using? It's working fine for me in Firefox under Leopard.

However, I do get an error in Safari

The Error wrote:

<irc.fxhome.com> *** Looking up your hostname...

A third-party solution is Athena IRC, which Sollthar and I use and, as Tarn would say, it's rather spiffy.

Also, this would probably be better under "FXhome.com Website Help" wink

Unfortunately Safari doesn't have the features needed to make the live chat work. We did try various things to fix it, but it seems it simply isn't possible unless they update how the browser functions.

Safari is becoming less niche now, so we would like to support it on more of the website. I do have a few ideas for a different chat system that'll work in most browsers, but I haven't found any time to work on it yet.

In the meantime you should have no problems with FireFox or a proper IRC client like Digerati Media mentioned.

If you don't have firefox, just download it here.

Hope that helps.
