Fxhomers,
I am currently working on a horror film by the name of "4:02". In it, there is a scene in which one of the characters watches an interview on TV. I have yet to cast the part of the interviewee, so i thought i'd open it up to you guys.

If you're male, English-Speaking and over 35, you could audition for this part. You will be playing a scientist (though whitecoats and safety goggles are not needed) who is being interviewed about Ufologists; people who obsess over UFOs and Extra-Terrestrials. And here's the best part; you can do it from the comfort of your own home!

All you have to do is recorder yourself, as if you were being interviewed (Medium Shot, sitting on right, talking to offscreen interviewer on left), saying the following line:

"No, it's a very worthy cause, but they're not approaching it in the right way. But unless we were to fully establish contact with extra-terrestrials, in a peaceful manner...I don't think we can stop them from camping in the woods".

Upload the video of yourself to a filehosting site and post the link in this thread (or in PM if you'd prefer to keep things private).

Any nationality can enter, so long as you speak English.

The winning entrant will be asked to record themselves saying more lines as the interviewee. This will then be cut into the film, with the entrants name appearing in the credits.

This is an urgent request, please post your videos before 11:59pm GMT on Thursday 28th February

If you have any questions, post them here.

Good Luck everyone!

AE

I just thought, it doesn't have to be you in front of the camera; you could get your family involved too. If you know anyone who fits the specs, please ask them to give it a go.

I've yet to receive a single entry...

Please help.

So long as you can stare creepily at the camera at the very end, it shouldn't matter wink

I apologise to you all for this but...

BUMP

I'm still in need of entrants. Please, i beg of you, submit your videos. As i've said before, any nationality can enter...so long as they can speak English; there's no specific accent for this character, he could be german, he could be japanese, just so long as he can speak english.

I'm getting rather desperate now; i had expected a slightly bigger responce than this....

Please help.

Alright here's what I could come up with in the short time I had yesterday...

Small file - 2.92MB

Large file - 92MB (I know, crazy for a 25 second clip)

Hope this helps.

Holy bad camera and USB import, Robin!

I know I'm a *little* young, but there are ways to make myself look older.

I might be able to have a go over the weekend, still be a crappy camera and lighting, but something. If that's too late, let me know.

Sorry nothing earlier, but I've been working my backside off these 2 days

Stop ragging on him, at least he's trying to help.

I'd also like to see someone with better delivery adult or otherwise, than SilverDragon.

Ahhh, so you think an actor would be better? wink

Interesting point here though is that there's negligible direction possible in a 100-word email/forum post, so SD's delivery may be perfect, or mine might be, or more likely neither of us - but it's a good illustration of why we have directors and actors workshopping before a shoot

I'm not. Just pointing out that he is not quite 35 or older, which is what the avenging eagle requested. I understand he is trying to help, and it's good to have people like him in the community. I was simply stating a fact (in a sarcastic way). I was not 'ragging'.

You also have to remember that you can't tell inflection of the comment, generally add smileys helps (such as Sollthars post).

Why don't you just grab someone local and tape them? Far easier, and you get a real actor, instead of a filmmaker playing actor. Unless you don't care about quality in your flick.

Get legal release forms before using any footage. Trust me on this.

Not everyone on here is just a filmmamker, Sollthar is both a successful filmmaker and actor.

And I'm sure he'd like to get the filmmaking community here more involved with his film anyway.

What, did you think I was serious? There were only two ways to take my post. I was either sarcastic, or I was serious. I would have to be pretty dumb to mistake you for only a little under 35. I know I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but believe me, I’m not that bad. smile

You're obviously not getting then, Thrawn, that being sarcastic is somewhat rude seeing as how SilverDragon was really just doing his best to help when no one else would/could.
