We have evaluated many chromakey softwares and have found none that work as well and easily as Photokey. Our problem is we shoot thousands of students and can't afford to manipulate one image at a time. I saw the other post on batch processing but nothing in the reply mentionioned a possible automation feature or Photoshop plugin being added. Will Scott Homes or someone write an automation feature into Photokey?
Thanks

Who is Scott Homes? (the most relevant result on Wikpedia is called "Public housing in the United States and Canada" with 100%...)

Scott runs Tubetape.com, which is a reseller of FXhome software. He's not involved in the actual development of any of our products, though, so I'm not sure why FXhomer43726 thought that.

I think that it's sad when you know someone just by their online handle and not their real name razz

All,

Scott Homes is a founder at TubeTape.com He and one of the Founders from FXHome were at PMA2008 discussing the possibilities of creating a batch version of PhotoKey. It generated a lot of interest.

As Tarn mentions FXhome is exploring this and other features.

Thanks

Please don't just evaluate it, do it. This is a great product, works exceedingly well and has several good features. It just takes a painfully long time to use when one has to process a lot of shots.

Thanks for listening.

Regarding Batch processing I don't see why you wouldn't have added this feature already. I just purchased your software and quite frankly perhaps in error as I assumed this would be a feature you'd have. I shoot literlly thousands of photos of which hundereds need this feature. Otherwise work flow is a real pain.

Yep, this programme is best one I have evaluated...one of them has batch processing but the programme is not much chop. This is without a doubt the easiest and the best in all areas EXCEPT no Batch.
Gotta have batch processing......just gotta....if I am going to make my fortune. So please get the backroom boys/girls constructing now!
Nevertheless, thank you for a marvellous application...

I'm currently sitting in a conference full of school photographers who are discussing Green Screen. I'd love to recommend your product...but without batch processing they won't even consider it. Some of these people photograph thousands of students each year and need the batch feature.

Please keep me on the list of people who want to know if batch processing ever happens.

Hi,

I'm a new registered owner of PhotoKey and would be willing to write a front-end for scripting PhotoKey from an external C# .NET application. If you can provide me with an API to perform each of the available functions, I would be happy to create an add-on product that can tap it.

In fact, I was going to investigate the possibility of writing my own PhotoKey-type of app. and found registering yours made much more sense. However, I would like to take pictures for a local Mother's Day Out (MDO) program and there are too many kids to do this all manually. I wasn't able to find any way to use the SendKeys API to send keystrokes to PhotoKey which limits the ability to accurately control the program externally.

I hope you will consider exposing the functionality via an API and publishing the API. I would be happy to help extend your excellent product!

Thanks for the offer, jonecool! However, don't have any plans at this time to publish an API. PhotoKey is still in active internal development here, so we won't be opening it up to the 'outside world' just yet. smile

More news on PhotoKey Batch should be coming very soon.

Hi Tarn,

Thank you for your reply! I lookforward to the new batch capability, if I can assist with the beta test process, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Exposing functionality via an API could become a new beginning (rather the end) of new uses for PhotoKey. You could actually tap entirely new markets by allowing this capability. Feel free to contact me via e-mail, I have a few ideas I would be happy to share of potential uses of PhotoKey that perhaps haven't been considered. All of which hold PhotoKey as the core component.

Batch processing is useful but allowing script support is much more powerful/flexible. Allowing 3rd party plug-in development only increases license sales of PhotoKey which I'm sure is in-line with your goal.

Thx,

Jon

Just FYI -
I created a C# app. that is able to Load/Close PhotoKey, Maximize and click on most of the existing buttons. I may be able to accomplish everything I need for the short term using this method. Still looking forward to the batch capability though smile
