Hi Sollthar!
I have a question. I want to buy some stock footage from nccinema and I want smoke explosions...I want something like this: http://www.detonationfilms.com/tutorials.htm
The third tutorial is about placing a dirt explosion in the desert. I like that kind of explosion, smoke and dirt. You have two packs. Fog HD or Guneffects HD. Wich one is the best?

I'm currently working on a dust/smoke/debris explosion pack. It's not available yet but will be shortly.

For a believable effect, you'll probably do well with the FOG HD pack combined with it, so you can add some actual smoke emerging from the explosion.

The Guneffects are, as the title suggests, aimed at recreating the effects of guns. Muzzle flashes and ricochets of all sorts.

As Sollthar himself said, it's really cool to combine the various effects packages for some interesting effects smile I often find that the Smoke pack works great with the Guneffects pack, as it can do everything from adding barrel smoke to cool atmosphere to your scene.

Futurefilmmaker, why would you try and get Fergo to not buy footage from Solthar when hes participating in this forum? you're just insulting his game man, thats not cool smile

Thanks for the backup FE Filmmaker!

Though it's fine and futurefilmy is right, if you can't afford higher quality footage, then detonationfilms free section is definately an excellent choice (I have their whole collection too).
And they're unit K HD stuff is also awesome, despite the fact it's not free.

Also, there's also a case of free stock footage being a pain in the arse if your planning on making a great film. Because of the amount of people using the free stock footage people would watch your film and possibly think, "They used Det films free explosions on that!" Using a variation of different stock footage for example, combine NCC's stock footage with Det films and you can create a somewhat un-noticeable stock footage effect biggrin

I will say though I think you'll be better of buying stock footage as well as gettind some free ones to enhance on.
