good trailer, BUT...
what does the first guy say..."I need to get back to the beach...they're...??????overpounded????" i can't understand what he said and he stuttered so...
music...man oh man...have you noticed recently that so many action/thriller movies are using the gladiator soundtrack? it's only my favorite one...and didn';t win an oscar...but it's getting overused.
These are confirmed trailers with the gladiator music:
i know i heard it in at least 1 more place, but cant remember, so i won't make anything up.

can you give a detailed explanation how you made it look more like film?

I . .. .I think they're oover pounded!!!
C'mon!! Other then the fact that you had a ton of good costumes and props, because you had a budget, the teaser was pretty cheesy. Nothin really that new - - - except for the few scenes - - - - muzzle flashes looked weird - - - - I could do this if I had a budget.

Yeah yeah I am sure you could do it but the fact is you didnt! Give the man a break.

can you really sell this? Plus, you didn't mention alam anywhere in the website, did you? Just some stickler points for legality sake.

lol thanks for bringing that up raider. I didn't know he was even selling this. Hah, most PROFESSIONAL dvd's dont even sell for twenty dollars. I'm not trying to get you down, but looks like you've grown too big for your britches. Hope in one hand and crap in the other...See which one fills up first.

Well, Thank you all for your comments. I could lie and say i used a friends copy of ALAMDV but im not going to, personally i wasnt impressed w/ the software, however being a mac user i am eager to see if there will be a OS X version i will most likely buy that. I Simply Downloaded the effects and Animated them through After effects. Um...I didnt have a budget ...just connections. This was not an easy task you try getting 6 guys to wake up at 6:00 Am on a Satuarday and go out to the beach to film a movie. Thanks for all the fours. UM about the selling technically i can becasue i have all royalty free music in it from freeplay. I know $20 is high and i honestly dont really expect people to buy it but..Ill send anyone a DVD if they pay for materials and Shipping. HAHHA . The galdiator music is overused i agree ..yes i did notice but it is sucha wonderful soundtrack you must admitt. The Line is " They are over piling with wounded." Film Look...Color adjustment is the key to the film look adjust the color to incorporate the feel of the scene. I also added a gaussin blur w/ a value of 2 in FCP. Thanks I hope the dont take off my movie becasue i dont have AlamDV. MechForce i would like to see some of your movies if you dont mind got any links?

So basically you are a freeloader and one of the reasons CSB-Digital had to lock downloading of plug-ins unless you are a registered owner of the program. So on what basis do you think these guys should leave your movie on? You have to be JOKING.
You state you dont really like the program and ownup to being a freeloader as far as I am concerned you can go and f#$k yourself. Of course the mods and owners will probably be far more diplomatic.

By the way you are mistaken that your music is royalty free. If it is from freeplaymusic.com it is only provided free if it is for personal, non-commercial use. Quoting freeplaymusic
Generally, a personal, non-commercial use involves using music on personal websites, or synchronizing it in home videos or content that you produce for friends or family.
So selling it or even offering it to us is illegal.

I wil gladly buy the program if i am guaranteed a OS X upgrade if and when it comes out ...for free. I dont even use OS 9 so as far as im concerned they dont have a compatible version. This site is great!!! I love the site, id pay 40 for a subscription to the site, but i want an OS X Version.

Well go and see a lawyer or risk it but you are wrong. My friend asked them if he needs to pay a fee if he was to use their music on a Wedding video that would be distributed via 10 copies. Freeplays answer was YES a fee wopuld be required in this case.

Re AlamDV I seem to remember you saying that you had to colour correct the explosion plug-ins ... maybe that was because you didnt use AlamDV
as I know no one else has had this problem.

nemesisfilms, alamdv2 is out for OSX. Schwar actually prefers that people operate it on OSX because it is most stable.
Now would be the time to buy it....
And besides, upgrades are free!
We've also used some alamdv effects in After Effects...mostly because we were having a problem with the plug-in loader at the time. In my movie, "On The Rainy River", all the explosions were done in AE, since it allowed me to apply motion blur, and frame-blending during slo-motion. ...I also couldn't get the explosions to load...
But everything works now.
And about the movie...
It looks good and has a nice professional look to it...until you see the muzzle flashes.
It seems that you might have altered the color of the movie after you applied them. This gives them an odd, brownish tint.
Also, you should put a white light (alamdv)/lens flare (if you're using AE) on the muzzle flash, since they are supposedly bright, and should cast a slight glow. It also helps to keep the edges from appearing brown, as well as making the flashes look more blurry and less defined.
Lastly, I didn't go through frame-by-frame, but it seemed that your muzzle flashes stayed on for two frames. (If they don't, ignore this.) When having a muzzle flash for two frames, you must use a DIFFERENT picture, as well as a slightly different position and scale. This makes it look like the flash is at least changing or expanding.
To see some examples of our flashes, just watch some of Twisted Studio's movies...
Metal Gear Redux
the maTRIX are for kids
The best gunfight ever
Fool Skool (lot's of 'em here...)

Also, you can just click on my profile to see what movies Twisted Studios has made...
Oh, I'd give the movie a higher rating...but so much of it is re-used and not new...and the effects are on a totally different level than the presentation.
But the beach scene with all the soldiers is very cool.
If you were to make the effects as good as the costumes, I'd give you a 5, but right now, they take away from what would be a sweet movie.

I like your clips but I have to say a couple of things.
First: Everyone chill out. The first few replies to his movie were a little harsh.
Second: If people give you a hard time don't hit a different guy. I didn't like some of the comments heading your way but instead of responding to them you go after the Malone and Schwar. That's not right.
Third. Your web page is great! It is so professionally done. I would run it through a spell checker though.
Fourth: I'd buy the program.

Amblix, both parties have shot their mouths off so let it be man. No one needs a moderator here to tell them what not to say and what to say. I dont know about you but I think he should be free to critique films. And dont bad mouth him back, challenge him. Mechaforce, if you can make that kinda film do it. I would love to see someone elses version of this type of movie. And speaking of which..Hey amblix, wheres your stuff? Can you do anything like in MGR? UMM no you cant so let it go man.

I cant??? I like how you had to throw that in there
As for letting it go? This is my first post I was not dragging anything on. And he wasnt critiqing the movie he was being a jerk. Critiques point out whats wrong with it, not say its cheezy. I'm not saying he has to like it, I just feel he puts himself on to0 high of a pedestal.
No one here has seen my work, and no one will. I have been producing for 6 years and own a FILM and video production company. I love watching people post their movies and reading about them, but I do not own ALAMDV, or use it so I dont feel the need to post anything here to justify how many stars I can get

Do you have to quote everything I say? Man. The point was that anyone can make up what they do for a living, so I don't care if you say you own a production company or what have you. Plenty of critics use the word cheesy, just like in the paper. Yah you don't have the program, but you could send us a link to see what your studio is putting out. I mean everyone that puts out a movie is putting their balls on the line in one war or another. People that just sit back and make comments who DONT have films out there for people to see...It's well...It's discouraging.

Yes I do
like I said I dont need to post links because I dont need opinions, nore to I have any work on the web. If you would like a CD or DVD go to www.amblixtech.com
and Fill out a form. I would love to send you a portfolio CD, anyways, I realize people put themselves on the line and thats not my point. My point is Mecha has had pretty much a bad attitude most everyone. It has nothing to do with how well he makes movies. I made those comments to be childish.
I'm not trying to start any drama here, just wanted to let Mecha know its ok to be friendly
Why do you concern yourself in this so much anyway?
Wether you believe me or not, is none my my concern...

Because people are entitled to their opinions whether they are childish or not. But it doesn't make sense to get on someone about being childish, and then scold them and be a child back at them. Fighting fire with fire?

Is this a thread on ethics or the movie, dangit!
nemisis: ALAMDV IS NOT FOR OS X. It will be a while. BUT WITH THE OS 9 EMULATOR in OS X, you can run AlamDV AND THE plugin loader THE SAME as you would in OS 9!! Just try it. I did it with my dual gig G4 and it works really well.
PS: Yeah check out metal gear redux cause it's the best TS (short) movie to date.
