I have a problem after i Key out my greenscreen i attempt to grade my actor to fit the background scene it either changed that entire layer instead of the keyed out actor.

Example: I Put a greenscreened actor infront of a sun rise background and i try to grade the actor a yellow warm color but it changes the green screen to messing the green screen up.

how can i grade the actor only and not the green screen?

I haven't tried chroma keying yet in CLab, so I could be wrong. But I think you could just mask out your actor and do your grading within your selected area, rather than the full clip.

Hope that helped.

It sounds to me as though you're doing your grading in 'Key Grade', under the 'Matte' tab. Instead, do it in the 'Grade' tab, in which it should only modify the actor.

But again, I might be wrong. However, I do know that you don't have to mask out your actor manually. razz

Yeah, Key Grading is only intended to be used to actively aid the keying process. Hence the name Key Grading. smile

The filters in the Grade section, however, are applied AFTER the composite, so won't affect the actual keying at all.
