Bill and Steve probably spend about the same amount of time at court:

-Bill is bossed around by a judge and forced to make pleas in court.

-Steve uses a racket to hit a ball over a net when he goes to court.

Not that im anti-mac or anything...but

Top 10 Reasons You'd Choose a PC over a Mac

1. You realize that the fastest PC is faster than the fastest Mac

2. You've noticed there's about ten times more software available for the PC

3. The PC's huge market share (about 95%) gives you lots of other users to commiserate with when the thing breaks, along with lots of places to get it fixed

4. You can build a powerful PC yourself and choose all your favorite components and case design, expressing your individuality and configuring your machine precisely for your particular task

5. You feel like getting more power for less money -- PCs are less expensive than Macs

6. You like the way Windows XP offers a polished user experience that's extremely stable and versatile, lets you go back to a previous configuration using System Restore, and gives you the ultra-sharp ClearType fonts

7. You want to use one of the cheap, mature and high-quality DV acceleration cards like Matrox RT2500, Canopus DVStorm and Pinnacle Pro-ONE for DV editing, or maybe you want to make one of the midrange choices like Matrox DigiSuite or want to go with one of the high end powerhouses like Media 100's 844/X, none of which are available for Mac

8. You've noticed that right-clicking and scrolling are more well-developed, contextual menus with right-clicks are more extensive -- the system is designed for a mouse with more than just one button and no scroll wheel

9. If you're working in a home editing suite or office, chances are you probably have a PC at work with which your system will be completely compatible and interchangeable

10. You like the fact that there are two competing companies designing chips for the PC, Intel and AMD, ensuring that chip speeds rise on a regular and accelerated basis. This also holds true for the variety of hardware manufacturers in the PC space

I prefer LINUX to both anyway

Hahahahahaha
Those are some very sad reasons you have the most of them arn't even true...
1. the fastest pc is faster than the fastest mac : ya but you can get macs that are WAY faster for cheaper

2. you are right there

3. a huge market share... that just means that 95% of people own pc's i have NEVER had any trouble getting my mac fixed or finding software for it.

4. WHO wants to build there own computer any ways macs come with most of the best stuf and DO not SKIMP out on SOUNDCARDS evil shity soundcard in may pc's i had to replace all of them...

5. Your wrong, you can get HIGHER mhz for cheaper my g4 dual 1 ghz does almost every thing fast than my 2 ghz pc

6.uhhhhhhhhhhh windows xp is SO INCREDBLY DISFUNCTIONAL YOUIR STATING STUPID FACT THAT NO ONE USES

7.hahhaha you even look at this, the matrox 2500 is more expensive that the mac version....

8. both are desighned for more than one button just apple is stupid there, and i bought a pc mouse for my mac cause i can't stand one button mouse

9.your sorta right there but still thats not that great of a reason you can get most office realated pc programs on the mac.

10. right there but still apple keeps up there because they are competing with pc

linux is ok but ugly
oh ya i have a iq of 125

It would seem to argument had changed from "who is smarter Mac or PC users?" to "what is better Mac or PC" to "who is better Microsoft or Apple".

Well Apple are a better company to deal with than Microsoft and MacOSX is the best "consumer" OS out there at a technical level. Microsoft are not evil, just a bit crazy and huge as they make about 10,000 different applications - people seem to see this as being evil.

As for who is smarter, the Mac or the PC user, that is a bit harder. More scientists use PCs and more professional artistic people use Macs - so it depends on how you define "smarter" as the artistic mind and the academicmind are very different (this problem has been around since Leonardo Da Vinci).

As for which is better? Well off the shelf Macs are better made than off the shelf PCs but are also more expensive. Apple are lucky that when making the OS they know just about every possible combination of major hardware components so drivers tend to be included by default. At the same time this limits the Mac in ways PCs are not as many items don't have Mac drivers made for them.

What I'm am basically saying is they both have their place and things like this our pointless. I've spent a lot of time with both and I like Macs more, but lots of people feel differently and I can see why. I'm writing this on my PC as IE isn't hardware accelerated on my MacOSX box yet so it isn't as nice to use.

Different people like different things, always have, always will.

arniie are you just mad?

Firstly "the top PC faster than top Mac" - NOPE.

My 933Mhz G4 is faster than my Athlon XP1800+ and the top Mac is twice as fast as mine.

And XP is not at all good - Win2000 is now an considered the UPGRADE from XP according to Microsoft.

All your poinst about making your PC your own by selecting which bits to use are a bit pointless - add the best components and it'll be like a Mac, anything less and it won't be as good.

As for editing, this is where the Mac is the best - that is what they are used for in the industry.

You state that PCs have all the apps and Macs don't but that isn't true. 3DS Max is the only thing missing from the Mac really (and apparently it is coming to MacOSX). Maya is there so it doesn't really matter. Photoshop is better and Mac users get Final Cut Pro which is just about the best editing software around (can't get it on the PC) and DVD Studio Pro (the best DVD software around).

In the professional video editing market Macs can more than hold their own against PCs. In fact the only area of software where the Mac is sub-standard compared to the PC is games - but they are pretty important wink

I'm not saying Mac people are smarter. All the best computer programmers I know use only PCs but in my group of friends there are only 2 of us with a fully and varied artistic background from film to sculpture and we both use Macs.

I used to only use the Mac but now I use both - I don't think I would like it if I had to pick just one system.

I think of Linux as better than Windows, but lower than Macs... they are pretty cool though.

I use both, too, a PC and a Mac. I MUCH prefer using my Mac over my PC. The only reason most progmammers program for PC is becuase that is the most used OS. It's not that they like the OS a lot...

U lot are mad..... i don't even think windows is any good.... but to say mac is the best is just insulting to computers everywhere.

Linux is sssooooooooooooo much more stable than macs and windows.....and it sure isn't ugly....in my opinion.

My Linux machine at home hasn't crashed in about 8 months.

Don't get me wrong, i like macs too - but to say they are better is wrong

Anyway, i think everyone should just chill a little. Everyone has their own opinion. Which makes life so much more fun

Linux is way overated. I've used it and it's decent... but it did crash on me every so often, and didn't quite have the speed of my mac or windows PC. Plus, I too, thought it was ugly compared to Aqua Mac OS X.

It's not bad by any means, but not quite up to par with Macs.

Btw, OSX 10.1 is extremely stable. It hasn't crashed on me so far, and I've had the Mac for about a year now.

Linux is not way more stable than MacOSX. I had MacOSX running on my laptop for 7 weeks without a crash - then I switched it off.

Same thing with my new MacOSX box - it has been on constantly for days with no problems apart from the ones I cause by coding something like a noob - you can crash any system by being an idiot.

The thing is that Windows 2000 is also very stable - amazingly so for all the random bits of hardware and software it has to support. If all you did on a Win2k box was run a web server and stuff like that then you would probably have hardly any trouble at all. A MacOSX Server Rack would be just as stable as a Linux box, maybe even more so as Apple have coded the OS and built the hardware.

If you could get a Linux box running all the stuff you can on a Mac and a Win2k machine then you would have the same problems as everyone else - badly programmed software that doesn't conform to the guidelines set out by the OS.

All these modern operating systems are great, if only people would program correctly - good job I'm not coding anymore smile

Ok, just to let you guys know I am extremely smart and I have a PC. However, I wish I had a Mac, because it is MUCH MUCH better for video editing. I think that the results are the way they are because Macs are bought by people who do editing and stuff like that, and PCs are bought by gamers (who don't care about being web saavy except to the point of being able to play games online) and by people who want a cheap $800 computer for basic stuff.

Now, now, let's not judge(eachother, or the ceos of companys)
Bill Gates only makes the software by the way, we're talking about Personal Computers not Windows.
I feel that Apple is really changing the market and selling much more thanks to Steve Jobs...anyone who watched the keynote would agree.
Also I think the mac is faster and much more stable (pay attention now-->)With OS X. And video editing seems to be at least much more straight forward with the mac and iMovie(I prefer Final Cut)
This was sort of out of order but I think I've raised a good point.

Using a mac & PC doesn't make you any "idiotic Genious", it just makes you smart mith a short attention span...probably the reason that this topic has changed so much since the beginning.
And in conclusion, OS X is built on UNIX, you PC lovin' retards!
sorry, that was uncalled for, I sincerely appologize.
