I am trying to create a light drifting smoke effect to move slowly by behind my actors in a scene. All I seem to be able to get is a big puff of smoke blowing too fast in the right direction, and then nothine for several seconds. Then it repeats.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

well i'm not sure, but isn't there an actual speed slider in the attributes?

i'm not a big user of the particle system so don't only go by me.

I figured it out. I had the max particles too low and the particle lifetime too high.

Well, I dont know. I have tried and tried, I even tried setting the max to low and the lifetime to high, but it did not work when I rendered it!
And I have been editing this same efect for weeks!

Well, I have it looking OK, but I can't get it to go slow enough. It flies through the scene, rather than drifting.

My gravity is set at 0.02.

How can I make it slow down?

It might help to post some of your settings or better yet screenshots so that we can see what's wrong. Without details it's kinda hard to understand what exactly is wrong.

However, from what I'm able to guess, you need to raise the max value, and decrease the speed even more. That's the best I can do without settings details.
