Many of you will have noticed that FXhome.com has been offline for the last few days. This downtime was caused by a fire and explosion at our main server facility in the USA, which blew out three walls and knocked out power to the entire complex. Thankfully nobody was injured and no data was lost.

We have now managed to implement Malone Plan B which involves using a UK-based server until our friends in the States get back up and running. Everything should be functioning normally again but let us know if you spot anything unusual - we've not had to do this before!

Apologies for the inconvenience to our customers and the community, this was a very unusual situation that was outside of our control.

I dunno how good a run you guys have had with them, but your hosting service, at least their Dallas substation (which is like half of their servers, I think) is notorious for hosting and spreading (inadvertently, I supposed) Chinese trojans and has been under investigation by the local news outfits for shady dealings, amongst other things.

Just thought I'd throw that out. I think the hosting has worked out for you guys. I just want you to know that I scoff at The Planet warehouse every time I drive by it every day. wink

I'll be sure to scoff a lot more since this explosion. Even if it was in the Houston center and not the Dallas one. biggrin

I was pretty sure that was the reason that particular server facility was chosen. Can't get enough of those Chinese Trojans!

I just want to thank everyone at FXhome.com for promptly getting back online. I'm in the middle of a project I'm very passionate about and needed some resources on the website.

I've been with you guys a long time, always will be.

Perhaps, though Tarn was referring to the song 'Boom Shake the Room' by Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince.

It's possible that a stray ember from the Universal fire drifted from LA to Houston and sparked the server explosion. Unlikely, but you never know. Butterfly flapping its wings and all that...
