I think it would be helpful for people searching the forums to be able to enclose their search query in quotes to find exact matches for words a phrases (like on Google).

Earlier, I was looking for a post Tarn made about a week ago. I remembered an exact phrase he used in the post, but my query for said phrase (in quotes), returned about an entire page of results from the last day or so alone, which could have otherwise been filtered.

It seems implementing this would also cut down on the "Someone else just asked this same question 5 days ago" sort of threads (or at least make responding to them easier).

I agree it would be a useful feature. Unfortunately the forum is based on third party software, and I don't think I would be able to modify it to be able to add that feature in.

You can search our forums using Google directly. Just add "site:http://fxhome.com/forums" to your list of search terms and it will restrict the search to just our forums. For example

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Ffxhome.com%2Fforums+%22helpful+for+people+searching+the+forums%22&btnG=Search&meta=

Sorry to hear that. The Google solution sound like a great idea though; I will try that in the future.
