Hey guys n Gals,

Just a little update from the cutting room. We entered production this morning and things are looking great. Cast and crew are bonding well.

The set is now lit, looking fantastic and Ash is looking extremely calm.

Completed some test shots and everyone seems happy, so the footage from set will be coming through to me soon.

Stay Tuned...

Oh, and Happy Birthday to RedHawk who turned 18 yesterday.

Sweet, looking forward to it wink

Good luck with your editing then and good luck to the entire Production team.

As for Redhawk, have you all ordered a stripogram yet? biggrin

Thanks! It's all going extremely well so far - check out the new time lapse video. I'll have another video for you guys tomorrow, including a sneak peek at some actual footage.

A mid-week update.

We are now starting day four of the FXhome film shoot. Everything is going really well and you should have now seen the full time lapse video of the set dressing, not to mention a sneak peek of the movie.

We have a rough cut of a few of the scenes and they are looking very nice indeed.

That's about all I can say really at the moment, except that there is going to be a fair amount of post work ranging from green screen keying, matte painting, 3D modeling and texturing to name a few.

So long...

Well, we have wrapped and are now back in our respective timezones - so now the real fun begins.

Had our wrap party last night which was great fun and Rockband was the star until the neighbours complained - lol.

So... what next? The full edit will start next week and I am hoping to have the final cut completed in about 3 weeks.

Then after that we start work on the special effect work - Yarrr!!!

Exciting times are ahead and the movie is looking awesome.

Take care and rock on...

Rock Band is indeed very awesome, can't believe how much we played it last Friday. That is until we were kicked out. Attaching a picture from the (fun) wrap party. wink

The final cut has now been signed off and we have now entered the 2nd phase of post production for the Sci-Fi. This is where the visual effect work, sound edit, soundtrack, etc is done.

I have heard the soundtrack composed by Siddhartha Barnhoorn and I must say that it is going to fit the mood of the story perfectly.

The sound edit has now gone off to Bennet Maples who will be mastering a 5.1 surround sound track, which really raises the bar in terms of production quality.

The visual effect shots have gone to Matthew Plummer, our VFX Supervisor to distribute to the effects team.

So everything is go!! I would say that we are still nicely on schedule.

All the best,

TRAILER UPDATE: The second cut of the trailer is done, just a few more tweeks and we're there with the trailer. It will then just need a visit to the sound department to make it sound as awesome as it looks!

MOVIE UPDATE: I have the majority of the VFX shots back in the cut now and they are looking very fantastic indeed.

Also, just noticed that this post is exactly 2 years after the last one in this topic - it been a long ride!

As I mentioned in the other topic. I'm still waiting on the last few VFX shots to put back into the edit.

No other news from my end I'm afraid.
