Hey guys!

I am attempting to do some cloning for my latest film, it's not complicated cloning, I just need to clone this object which STAYS STILL. But when I splti the clip and drag it over the other one it goes weired, it goes transparent and I don't want that to happen! What do I do!

Thanks

If you're using ELab, that's to be expected. ELab doesn't have the right blend modes to do something like this correctly; it's a job for CLab or VLab (or even possibly your NLE).

If you must do it in ELab it might work to render out each individual track with an alpha channel and recomposite them in another program.

Or, if your object is still anyway, you could try using a still frame and compositing that over your video. This works sometimes too.

Sigh...

EffectsLab IS NOT intended to be a compositing program. So keep in mind that problems and difficulties should be expected when tryint to use it as one. However, that link is a workaround that in certain instances can give the results you are after.
