Hi all.

I just returned from another nightscene again and had time to upload some first pictures of my new film "Face to Face". Maybe some of you'd like to see them and I'd really love any feedback...
(I know, it's just pictures and you don't really see much. I hope I have a Teaser or Trailer soon) :)

Wow, that looks really professional!!! The one guy looks like Robert DeNiro! Did you hire the actors?

I think I read somewhere that he did hire professional actors. What is this movie about? And is that kid an actor too? This movie looks just like a 'real' movie! There are only a few shots that look fan filmish, and those are still amazing. Your using film right? Although it looks like a mixture of video/film

In order: TMM, 'Me', Xcession, Fallen, Schwar/Malone, all drawn courtesy of Animaster. I hope he makes more, so I can make the real tag I have in mind. I'll PM him tonight about it. I'd love to see a Sidewinder/Mecha sketch wink

I really like that signature-picture of yours, flip! haha...!

Thank you very much for the positive feedback!

Yes, we did hire some professional actors (not all, but most). The most famous one is the man in the first three pictures. He played with Harvey Keitel and others. It was great to work with all of those. And it as very kind of them to work with us, cause we had a Mini-Budget and they're working for free.

We filmed with two Canon XL-1 MiniDV-Cameras and several 500W spotlights (wich really help to make the picture look better). :)

These are grabbed stills from the movie; actually from some scenes wich we had time to do a rough-cut. The whole movie will be about 80 minutes long and I hope we can finish it in decembre.

Thanks again!

I'll put a teaser/trailer up as soon as I can. The movie will have some AlamDV effects in it (muzzle flashes). :)

The movie is actually made to fit in TV. We hope that it will be broadcasted, but it's not sure cause we produce it without any help from a TV station. We'll see... :)

Go Sollthar! lol. the storyline must be pretty good if you got somewhat decent actors/actresses to help. I wouldn't mine paying for a movie like this, just depends on if it's the type of genre I like smile

Hey Marco. the photos look AWESOME, the XL1s are awsome cameras. It looks as though one thing could have been done but wasnt, but I am not sure if you did this on purpose. In the close up shots the whole depth of field in focus. It looks so good when the backround or foreground is out of focus. But like i said this may of been your plans cuz I know you have extraordinary talent. I cant wait to see the film when its complete! That one you will HAVE to send to me on a few CDs bud smile

examples:

btw- you look like such a smook mutha in that pic hahahaha, you have an awesome face for the bigscreen.

I know my photoshop depth of field is off in some spots but you know what I'm getting at anyways smile

haha, I just love you guys! :)))
Thanks a lot for your support! I really appreciate this!

That looks very good, amblix!!
You're right, the more depth of field you have the better it looks. We tried to do it as good as possible, but even with the XL-1 standard lenses it just isn't possible to achieve the same depth as in film. We try to add some blur manually (just as you did) frame by frame in some shots. The film won't be finished before beginning of 2003 I think.

It isn't an actionmovie. It is a drama. It has a few actionlike scenes, but we didn't set them in scene as actionscenes but mainly to develop the characters, so pretty calm.

Sure I can tell the story again:

It is about two brothers whose parents get killed when they are young (just before their eyes).
A few years later, they work as hitmen for a syndicate themselves and seek for revenge. The two maincharacters are very different and so they drift apart more and more. Then they get played against each other before the final showdown between them.

The storyline is pretty basic, the movie is living from their relationsship and theyr development. The mainsubject is revenge and the fact that they become more and more like what they want to destroy.

The film will feature some non-alamDV effects too. But the effects won't be as intheface as in Turicon, but to achieve certain details. For example a slowmotionshot of a spinning coin or a paperglider in front of a sunset.

@ av11d: I really wonder who you were talking about when you said that one guy looks like Robert De Niro...(as I'm one of the actors seen in the pictures! wink)

I really have to say that it was a great experience working with Sollthar (Marco) and his crew!

Switzerland's gonna become a great movie making country, thanks to Sollthar...and, hopefully, me...one day! wink (Get ready for a low budget action thriller made in Switzerland in 2003!)

Hey Tino!! You really have a great face for movies... You look real good in the pictures!!

Yeah, we gonna change swiss movies forever!! :)
(not that it would be a real quest to do a movie that is better than swiss average movies, but...) :)

lol... If I ever win an oskar I'll do it as Tim Yip in 2000. I'll take a huge list with all the forum names with me and start reading: "I wan't to thank all the AlamDV community members, such as schwar, malone, Xcession, avid, TMM, Hajiku_Flip, amblix, v6proz...." and at least after the first 100 names they gonna arrest me and never gonna give me anything again... :))
