so, on the downloadable plugins, are the "bronze", silver, Gold, etc...ratings? or what do they mean

sorry-- i am sure this is common knowledge, but for some reason i can't figure it out

It just judges how good the effect is. Gold for a great origional preset, silver - medicore and bronze - decent.

Well, more accurate would be:

Gold - Outstanding
Silver - Very good
Bronze - Good
