I am a relatively new ALAM user (fully registered ) and I just wanted to introduce myself and offer a quick summary of my "skill set" or areas of knowledge for the home based movie makers out there.
I'm 32-have spent the past 3 years working in the video and film industry in the midwestern US, but not in graphics or other related ALAM fields-although I have learned a thing or two from working with and around some great professional artists. I edit with Adobe Premiere 6.0 (fully registered again-I'm not big on using "grey market" software although I have been known to do so....) so I may be able to answer some Premiere questions. I have also begun to develop a plugin set for ALAM already ( ) that I hope will help out. I am primarily an actor/musician but have also done some associate production on things (yes some end up on TV-regionally that is....) so I have a great interest in writing, directing, and performing...and of course DIY FX! I made my first film in 1982 (with an 8mm home movie camera) and continued to do so for several years-but I have to say I AM JEALOUS of all of you younger people that have digital editing and video at your fingertips- If I were 12 or 14 again and had this stuff (and the time from being 12 or 14..... WOW.
In short, I'm just glad to be here and hope that I can learn from you and help out in any way I can- My alternate name is "Mick Hawthorne" and I have posted some things as a "Guest" for people using Premiere etc..
So let me know if there is anything I can do for you and I hope to learn from all of you DIY folks as well.
