I have had this problem in the past with various softwares. Most of the time the problem is with your computer. It all depends on many factors factrors. For example:

- Is Elab the only program that does this?
- How old and what model is your computer?
- How much RAM do you have?

Sometimes, it also depends on how many video tracks and FX you have going at once.

There is always the possibility that the problem is part of EffectsLab, in which case you should send an email detailing your problem to support@fxhome.com .

I had this problem and this worked for my Vista machine.

I downloaded DirectX 9.0c from the Microsoft site and installed it. This cleared up the performance problems. Might work for you if you haven't tried this yet.
