Make effects longer

How do i for example make the quantum door effect longer. The effect plays way to quickly and I want it to sort of pause when its at its peak but I dont know how its done.
You may have been asked this loads but Its nice to know because I dont know how

If you right click on the track you want to adjust, down at the bottom of the menu that comes up there should be a 'set speed' option. If you cut up the track so that the peak of the clip is separate from the rest, you can slow the rest of the clip down a little, and you slow the peak down a lot and just tweak it until you get what you're looking for.

That method will work for pre-rendered footage, but it won't work if you are dealing with a preset. To make a preset run longer, it is going to take some alterations to the settings of the effect involved.

In that case, its a fairly simple neon light effect, so it should just be a matter of dragging the second half of the keyframes over to extend the effect.

Or right click the effect and click 'set duration'

Sometimes that will work, but you will still most likely need to tweak the keyframes.

I find the crop button ( <||> ) and click on one end and extend it to the apropiat spot.
