I'm having trouble doing meteors, I'm trying to make them look like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZctyFN7HuI&feature=related

I have the demo version of vision lab because I don't want to buy the full until testing EVERYTHING that I plan to use for my movie, meteors is one of them. Is there a beginning to end tutorial explaining how to do these meteors? If there isn't, can I have one please?

Thank you in advance!

I don't have time to write a full tutorial right now, but there are basically 3 elements in this effect:

1) particle effect (?) to create the meteor
2) particle effect to create the smoke
3) grading to make the video that orange color whenever a meteor hits. Perhaps also some selective grading on just the impacts spots to create those scorch marks on the ground.

Hope this helps you get started at least. If you let us know more specifically what problems you're having, we'll probably be of more help.

Can someone at least put up some good textures for meteors like the ones in the video?

That video was made with Adobe After Effects, so results that match that isn't going to be easy with VisionLab.

But FXhomer46784 is right for the most part. Also download The Gimp and make some textures- as I'm sure no one will do that for free...
