I find it's absolutely disgraceful that I would have to pay another $180 dollars for a product that I already bought, especially if I have to use it in a workflow I hate.

Are we all SURE there's no way to use the VisionLab version for AE?

They are completely different architectures, and to a large extent run different code. They had to be programmed as separate applications. There is no way to run VisionLab in AE.

The presets use a different architecture too, so you can't just swap presets between VisionLab and the AE plug-ins. Although its not too difficult to mimic the settings of a Vlab preset with the AE engines. Is there a particular preset you wanted to use in AE?

You don't have to pay $180 at all. Whether you want to buy an AE plugin is entirely up to you. And you haven't 'already bought' the AE plugin, as it is a completely separate product. Different code, different interface and different functionality in some areas, designed for completely different host programs.

The point of the AE plugins is to offer AE users the chance to access VisionLab's more unique features (ie, muzzles and lightning) directly. As you already own VisionLab there's not really any need for the plugins.

I'm very sorry that you're upset, but I don't see how the situation can be described as 'disgraceful'. We sell two separate products, for two different sets of users. Whether a user buys one, both or neither is entirely up to them.

Yes.
