Ridley Scott may be returning to the science fiction genre having recently acquired the rights to Joe Haldeman's classic novel The Forever War. Presuming it doesn't fall onto Scott's discard pile we'll still have to wait a good few years before the film arrives as he's already busy with numerous other projects.

Nevertheless, Scott returning to the genre that originally put him on the map is big news, given his masterworks of Alien and Blade Runner.

Awesome news! I love that book. Can't wait for this to come out.
I wish someone would look into Joe Haldeman's other classic 'All my sins remembered'. That remains my favourite sci-fi book of all time.

Nice, should be cool to see it eventually (that is if he ever makes it). Still waiting for the "Body of Lies" premiere here in Sweden, a film which I think looks quite cool - became a pretty big fan of DiCaprio after "The Departed". And Russel Crowe is awesome. razz

I'm excited to see Scott take on the Sci-Fi genre again, although strange seeing he wants too after saying the genre is dead? One of my favorite genres and director's of all time, I can't wait. smile
