One day a bored man answers his front door.
Mini Starwars ships start flying around him, trying to wreck his house.

the glass breaking and some laser shots. confused

but the main reason i made this was for the people just getting to grips ith poser.

i did not use 3ds max or anything else other than poser & alam,
i was trying to show what can be done without spending money on other 3d programmes.

i guess i should have said that in the discription. redface

Good work, but it looks really weird cuz their so small.

b4uask.....where's the story huh? that you seem so preoccupied in finding in other videos on the cinema.

think of the film ( batteries not included ) with the small spaceships.

Not so much as a story, more of a joke, ( at the end he has to face more stawars stuff )

I sent Davlin ( person on here ) 2 full discs of poser stuff, and a few other people asked questions about poser, so I thought i would make a short film with poser.

That goes for anyone else if you want free poser stuff that i have already downloaded i will gladly send you copies on 2 discs.
( just let me know your address ) no need for payment, i'm sure you would do the same.

cypher ( your right no real story ) redface
but i thank you for your vote and comments.

Alright, since you always want people to comment on your films, I'll throw my hat in and do it.

1) I like the AlamDV cameo. I had that in my ScopeFest film, good stuff.

2) When you opened the door, you picked the worst view. We just see your dark back. You did it twice too. Why not get a farther out view showing you walk to the door and start to open it, then cut to outside of you opening the door and looking around?

3) I thought the ships did too little. You could of had them flying at your head, with you ducking and dodging, breaking more things. Maybe you swing a bat and one bounces off the wall and knocks something over. You could of done more with the 'plot', it had some potential.

There's not much else to say really. If you want more comments on a particular aspect, just let me know.

Thanks for you comments.

i had thought of those things, but my wife was due back in 30 mins, so rushed it.

i know i should never have rushed it, but when you spend more time on the computer than talking to your wife, you have to do it without her knowing.

but i do thank you for your comments

oh, Hajiku_Flip why have you not uploaded any films, i hear you say about films your doing, and you even make plug ins.
i would love you see your new work.

Well, I had been working on ScopeFest, and got the first 30 seconds done in one day. I loved how it turned out, and it had some really cool spots. Unfortunatly, on the second day, the tape was eaten, and I lost 3 hours of work. THe next day I had an hour to film in 120 degree weather, with only 2 people, and things just didn't go right. I'm really hard on myself, and I don't want to submit half assed work, so I just never finished it. I'm hoping to redo it soon, but it's been raining like crazy the past few days. Hopefully soon though, hopefully soon biggrin

In my thank you post to "b4uask30male" on the forum I didn't

go into details of what help was supplied in case he was overwhelmed

with begging letters....like mine but I can verify that the two discs

I received this morning were packed full of goodies.....it was like

Chrimbo all over again......I reckon it take me couple of years to

check 'em all......that's if I don't peg-it first. lol

Now thats what I call helping out.

Is Poser a free 3-D program (aka Blender)? Or did you just use (free) 3-D models created in this program?

working versions.

I think "b4uask30male" uses the more updated version 4.....which is not

free.

poser is a 3d software, but it's made to use with 3d people ( that you can animate every part of the person ) you can also have dinosaurs ( see the film on alam " call it a stargate trailer" ) for the t-rex shot, and pretty much anything else just look on the net for poser + " what ever you want"

But the film "why starwars" i wanted people to see you could bring in 3ds max models ( these are nothing to do with poser, free on the net ) and animate them in poser, making poser a worthwile investment.

3ds max has more objects cars and things than poser, so look on the net for 3ds + (what you want )

hope this helps. wink

As a piece of good humoured film making it's great but also
and maybe more importantly an example of what can be done
using just Poser and Alamdv ...it gives encouragement to those
who think u must have the biggest and best of equipment to
succeed.

yes it works for mac,

some of the other programmes that you can get for it, such as

mimic lipsync ( you record your voice and the poser man/woman will move their lips in sync.... cool ) i don't think they have made a mac version of this. but check it out incase they have done one since.

also look out for avatar lab
http://www.curiouslabs.com/products/avatarlab/index.html

b4uask30male,

I have two questions for you.

1. How old are you?
2. Are you a girl?

No seriously....

1. Is Poser 3 free?
2. If so, where can I get it?
3. How hard is it to use?

_______________________________________________________

On Topic,

I liked the clip! Getting ships to fly is hard. I am doing it in 3dmax but am looking for a different cheap way. (I have to stop using my 3dmax, I got it and some other software that I thought was ligit but it is not so I am trying to replace it) unsure

Thankx for the help!

b 4 u ask POSER IS EASY.

http://www.curiouslabs.com/products/proPack/html/proPackDemoDownload.html

this is a demo download it, you will see.

it took about 30 mins to make the spaceships fly around in " why starwars "
the t-rex in " call it a stargate " was also from poser.

i have 3ds max, it's hard....i know, thats why i thought i would try and animate in poser, and it works, just import you 3ds obj, that's it, it's that easy.
and as i've said before, i have nearly 3 full discs now of poser stuff i've downloaded, i will post the discs to you when/if you want.

give it a try,

ps.
( please don't make better films than me when you get poser..... cry cry )

another programme i use is bryce ( very easy to use, " STARWARS VII " on here was done with bryce, it creates backgrounds.

I agree with Hajiku_Flip about the camera angles and the antics of the ships. I would have liked to have seen more mischief and mayhem before the ships crashed into the TV (I really liked that). twisted

Otherwise, it's a great concept and I liked the "punchline" when you open the door for the second time. biggrin
