Soooo, who is planning on getting Left 4 Dead? Here in the FXhome office we're all pretty excited about the prospect of co-op zombie apocalypse action.

I got my hands on it at the Eurogamer Expo and can confirm that it us utterly awesome. My thoughts can be found here.

Valve just released the intro movie to the game, which is actually better in its four and a half minutes than most 'proper' horror films. It might be rendered using relatively low-tech CG, but the actual pace and structure of the thing is fantastic, as is the cinematography and editing. Oh, and the dialogue.

Check it out.

I'm getting it! And I shall possibly be using my microphone for it for the first time in years on a online game.

The intro movie is utterly outstanding I have to say. I was not expecting that!
Valve have really gone all out...6th November we Pre-Purchaser's get our demo...just a few more days...hehehe...a few..

Oh and those who aren't aware I'm pretty sure you'll need Steam to play this, or at least so you know when Me and Tarn and others are online smile

If no one buys this I'm reminding Tarn to put it in the license agreement.

A recent game I've played that's totally brilliant is World of Goo...not anything like L4D but worth checking out.

Main complication, of course, is that the 360 and PC versions can't play together (PC users would utterly destroy 360ers, of course), and I fear lots of you young'uns have 360s.

Still, there's a fair bunch of people in the FXhome Steam group. We'll have to arrange some games through that.....

The only potential problem now is hosting. Be interesting to see how well that's going to work without having to get a dedicated server...also could be painful trying to play with people across the pond. We shall find out on Thursday!

If I have the right amount of funds on the day it comes out I'll get if not then I'll wait until I have it to get it. I love games like Left $ dead and I'm can't wait until I get my rotten hands on it to play it. I believe the Co-op should make this game worthy until I get RE5

I'm currently using Crossover, installed Steam and play CS 1.6. I've not actually tried anything else on it yet but you may as well get the trial and give it a try. It run on osx by the way so no bootcamp.

Just a note to say that for those who have pre-ordered the PC version (the non noobular amongst you) that the demo is due out this Thursday (the 6th, mine and Arktic's birthday incidentally).

I'll be celebrating the occasion by recording myself and a couple of friends first play through (both screen capture and mic chat) and that I think there are likely to be either a player slot, or zombie slots open and available for other fxhomer's to jump in.

Depending on how things go, I may put up the server details in here. Though whatever happens - you should also be playing Left 4 Dead on the 6th.

How are you planning to host that? Dedicated or home PC? From what i've read the L4D server is more intensive than other source titles, given The Director's requirements. It may be unplayable for more than a couple of people if home-hosted.

If it turns out unplayable, I'm planning on buying (hiring) a gameserver from inx-gaming.com. £12 a month seems like it might be worth it for a few months of play, until we've all got bored of it razz

If I do, that'll definitely be made public, although there will be quite a few reserved slots (assuming l4d supports such a thing).

Interesting point Xcession - though as far as I'm aware, Valves 360 titles so far have all only been run off a hosts machine rather than a dedicated server. If a 360 can handle it then I like to think my PC can too.

Though we'll have to see, it's a potential deal breaker if this requires heavy duty dedicated hosting in my opinion.

Update:

So I've just read that the 360 version will only be played on Dedicated Servers. Gah.

Yeah i've just read something to that effect too.

The inx-gaming people have advertised that they're going to be setting up L4D servers as soon as they can and have theorised that L4D dedicated will require roughly 2x the processor of regular source games. They speculate that their L4D server prices may therefore be roughly 1.5 X regular source servers. Not only is there The Director, but theres also a new matchmaking system , which will no doubt require N times more polling of the server by the master server.

The jury is still out, but it would look like Dedicated is going to be a must for L4D in full adversarial mode with spectactors. Whether it'll be possible to do coop without player boss-zombies is unknown, but could make home-hosting possible.

There's also the fact that L4D intrisically has a helluva lot more going on than a lot of other multiplayer games, especially other Source multiplayer games like CS.

At any given time you've got 20-30 zombies, all moving at super fast speeds, plus bosses leaping all over the rooftops. Be interesting to see how it copes with all that, as if zombies start lagging and sliding all over the place it'd be game over pretty quick.....

Then again, it's Valve. I can't see them releasing a multiplayer game without having got this stuff sorted somehow. It'd be a public relations disaster.

I can't wait for this title on the 360. Between this Farcry 2, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Dead Space, and GOW2 on Friday....theres just too many games coming out. But I have no doubt L4D is going to be getting ALOT of time in my console.

L4D411, in their usual panicky fashion, have some information on hosting/servers:

So, just been playing this single player and also tried joining a game with Sollthar.

So far it's a brilliant game! I love it!
Levels seem a bit short but animations, AI and graphics are pretty damn sweet. Shall be figuring out this idea of servers, think I've got a plan but that shall have to be tested.

What's everyone elses thoughts about the demo?

Simply joyeous that the game is as fun as it is, however - extremely worried regarding the lack of dedicated servers, and the effect this has had (some extremely unreliable and laggy experiences).

There are some things Valve really need to address here, as currently an amazing experience is hampered by some pretty fundamental system issues. Though, it's early days - during the pre-order exclusive beta there server count was always going to be low.

Fingers crossed things are fixed and get better. It makes me a little nervous.

Awesome game. Connection issues I'm not particularly concerned about - it was pretty obvious that the pre-order demo was going to be used as a beta and stress test of sorts. Given that Valve are updating the game very 5 minutes I imagine it'll be fairly stable by the weekend.

Playing on a personally hosted game with schwar, and with xcession jumping in at one point, was utterly brilliant.

Me and my guild, The Authority, are creating a branch in it. We're all zombie nuts, so we're pretty pumped.

Edit saw the intro video. Awesome. I love this:

"We made it!"

"Shawn, we just crossed the street."

I also noticed the zombies seem to be attracted to red blinking lights. I'll keep that in mind, heh.

Gameplay is awesome, when you don't lose connection and can actually find a server. 200% better than the game I was hoping it to be. Regarding the fact that its a 'demo' when its so obviously incomplete i'm less happy about, but i've posted those thoughts on Potential Gamer

Even better, the public demo is out tomorrow (11th), so everyone can join in!

I can see why they're turning the demo off once the full game is out. There's so much replayability just in these two levels that you could quite happily play it for a long time without purchasing the full game.

I think this may well be the game that changes my mind about multiplayer gaming. I've always liked it in concept but never in execution, always preferring the emotional and immersive aspects of single player games. L4D seems to combine the two rather niftily.

I just got the demo last night for the 360 and I am going to get it when it comes out next week. The co-op for this game is so need that you will die if you decide to run off on your own. I spent all last night playing the demo over and over because it was that good. you only get to play the first to levels with people online or a friend with split screen. the thing I love is if you need to go somewhere you can say take a break and the computer will take over your player as you go off so it doesn't ruin the game for the other people who are playing. if anyone here has a 360 this game is worth it to download the demo.

Just finished a round in the demo with my guildies. This game is pure win! I can't wait to play the full game.

Edit: a Closer Look

I have to say this game is quite awesome. One thing that took me by surprise, was death. When I died the sound lowered and it played a slow and sad song. With that came some cinematic views of my teammates fighting the tanker that took my life. I watched as they fell before it's mighty strength. Only in the final moments of my last guildie did he slay the horrid creature in his last desperate attack. There was even a part when Bill was lying inside of a room where was holding his leg in pain, rocking back and forth. You could hear Louis fighting the monster just out of sight. It was perfect with the music. Very emotional for game. Simply stunning. I can't get over how amazing that was.

I really love the movie theme they took with this game. Very immersing.

I've been playing the demo and i'm suprised that most of the 'scary element' is taken away in multiplayer. Maybe me and my friends are slightly sadistic but its gets very funny very quickly, especially with the 'witch' flying out and people deliberately setting it off. I think this a concept thats going to last a good while.

I think this is a really good game pulled off greatly.
Even if you don't want to kill zombies you can (me, Tarn, Schwar) hang on the edge of a building while a sadistic Sollthar shoots you till you drop.

Good times. I also love the door physics.

Theres a little shortcut in the first part of the no-mercy level. You can jump from the roof onto some air con vents. Have you ever shot someone mid jump??

I just preordered this game. Haven't had any time at all for gaming because of the massive amounts of work I've had, but I'm hoping to recreate the awesome Thanksgiving break I had 4 years ago when Half Life 2 first came out. Hopefully we can all find time for another FXHome gaming night!

For PC players, just make sure you join the FXhome Steam group. Then we'll all be able to find each other without any problems.

Best Multiplayer game ever!

Seriously. Me, Tarn, Schwar all gave our lives so that Xcession could escape with his life....emotional part of our story tonight biggrin

Oh and to add to Tarns "join the steam group" you will also have to add us as friends as far as I know to be able to join the friends only games.

Hmm, I've been playing the game mostly in single player and haven't gotten a chance to play with any FXHomers yet. Can we set up some sort of tentative time for something small before we inevitably have some sort of huge blow out event?

You're in NY at the moment, right, evman? What kinda time difference is there between you and us UK-ers?

Anyway, yes, the game I had of the full 'No Mercy' campaign yesterday with xcession, schwar and b3n was absolutely superb. It really is astonishing amounts of pure fun. The blending of single player narrative tricks with multiplayer hijinks is genius.

Favourite moments....

Climbing a scaffold to get up onto a high roof, in order to sneak in an upper window, a Smoker suddenly appears back down in the parking lot, and grabs schwar with his tongue. There's a brief moment of "oh crap", before schwar gets dragged all the way off the rooftop and down onto the ground again, landing....right next to a Witch.

Then, at the rooftop finale, we've held off the zombie onslaught for what feels like half an hour, and the rescue helicopter finally arrives. Abandoning our strategic position, we all leg it towards salvation. B3N falls first, then I get stopped by a solid wall of zombies, before being pounced upon by a Hunter. Schwar and xcession have no time to come back to save us, so continue running for the chopper. schwar doesn't make it, and is knocked down just 10 metres from escape. Xcession, standing on the helipad, looks back at schwar, considers a last-ditch attempt at rescue. Weighing up the odds, though, he turns and jumps into the chopper, flying away from the carnage.

That's what the whole game is like. All the way through you're playing through unscripted moments that are as dramatic and impressive in their procedural staging as any cut-scene in a normal game. In fact, most of the action in L4D is the kind of thing most games could only depict in a cut-scene.

Wowsers.

Unparalleled fun. The best fun i've had since i was a clansman in Rogue Spear back in 1999.

Getting to da choppar (sic) was brilliant. Schwar yelled something garbled through the mic which I couldn't make out, I assumed it to be a problem so made a dash for the pad. Zombies came from every direction and I emptied the autoshotty at the first group I saw, but was overwhelmed and unable to reload. I ended up melee-barging my way up the ramp, turning in slow circles swinging the shotgun practically around my head, hearing each of my team-mates in turn fall. Got to the top of the ramp and turned to see schwar encased in a wall of zomb, had time to fire a few shells into the group but had no effect then was finally yelled at to escape which, reluctantly, I did.

It was only at this point at around 10:30pm that I realised the office door had been open all along, my girlfriend had gone to bed in the next room and I'd been screaming blue-murder for the past 45 minutes.

Wicked-awesome.

The only real issue I see here is that it's $49.99.

So is GTA4 that's coming out for the PC in early December.

(One of these games has a huge amount of content for the money. The other has... a rather limited amount.)

Are you referring to GTA4 or L4D?

I'm jesting, of course. wink

However, don't underestimate L4D. There may only be 4 campaigns, but the variety of play offered therein is fairly massive. Bear in mind we played the demo for a couple of weeks without getting bored at all - and that only featured one and a half maps from a single campaign. I can't speak for anyone else, but I never got even slightly bored playing that tiny amount of content, thanks to the game's general design.

Bear in mind that every single time you play a campaign, it's different. Sure, the physical space is the same, but the pacing and flow is different, the people you're playing with might be different, strategies can change, etc. Add to that the really quite different experiences offered by the various difficulty levels and you've got a pretty long-term game.

Oh, and that's without even getting into the Versus mode, and is also ignoring the fact that Valve will almost undoubtedly produce more (free) campaigns over the next 12 months, and that there will be a shedload of fan-made maps as well. Though I suppose those last two points might not be wholly applicable to 360ers.

I wouldn't be surprised to see people still playing L4D several years down the line. I mean, people still play the original Counterstrike. All I'm saying is, don't take the "only 4 campaigns" thing too literally.

(I'd also argue that L4D offers something genuinely new to gaming, whereas GTA4 is just the same old GTA stuff - great fun, but nothing new)

Tarn - It's still East Coast Time, so I believe 5 hours later than you guys...? Problem is that I'm usually in classes and don't have a chance to play until late at night, when you guys would be asleep.

Possibly today for a little bit later, or this weekend, and definitely the second half of next week when I'll be home for Thanksgiving, I'll be free. I've been having a blast playing the random versus mode, but I imagine it'd be so much better if it was with some Fxhomers!

The scaryest thing thats ever happened to me (in the demo). I had just downloaded the demo and I loaded the game and I clicked "Quick Match" i found a match and we started on the roof of the apartment building. We fought our way down I was ahead of my teammates, and i got out into the back alley. I was walking out of the alley and I saw that car sitting to the left of the alley, as soon as I walk out of the alley a hunter who was sitting on that car attacked me. Nearly gave me a heart attack smile.

Add me so we can kill some zombies.

I think it would be safe to say that there is nothing is more satisfying than punching a zombie in the face.

The same place that you can find demos of every single on of valves products. Steam : http://www.steampowered.com. Alternatively if you're unfortunate enough to not own a decent pc, there's a 360 demo available through live.

Back on topic;

Me and three friends sat down and played through all four campaigns on 'Advanced' on the day of L4D's release totalling a total of 8 hours game time. I've never been so physically and emotionally exhausted by a gaming experience.

There were several occasions when cries of joy and the hope of escape were abruptly answered by the director with forces so great that any sense of hope was destroyed. The escape itself an act so glorious that laughter and tears of glee echoed very loudly through the voice channels.

I haven't played any today, as to be honest I really needed to escape the experience for a while. Last night I dreamt about being repeatedly eaten alive - I think my brain needs a rest lest I become the first newsworthy case of a gamer suffering post traumatic stress.

This really isn't a game that should require convincing people to experience though sadly a lot of people will simply be ignorant as to how and why L4D advances this medium - on the surface the game is decidedly regular. Something a couple of plays emphasises that this is not.

Hope to see a couple of you in a campaign in the near feature.

Isn't that applicable to just about any online game ever, though?

For example, I've been playing a bit of Gears of War 2 recently and, to be honest, no two games are similar... the people, strategies, events, deaths and so on align to form different atmospheres and get different emotions. You get different experiences from each of the 10-ish game modes ranging form deathmatch to fighting hordes of monsters that come in waves.

And on top of that, you get a really badass solo campaign that you can play in coop and features one of the best non-valve game levels I've seen yet.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a gigantic Valve fan (I bought a HL2DM t-shirt, in fact), but I get the feeling you guys are giving this game more credit than it deserves just because Valve made it. You run through levels with 3 friends, shooting zombies. There's no real story, and the gameplay never really changes from the core mechanics. It sounds like an Activision game.

So I cracked down and ran boot camp on the mac pro to try out the demo: good stuff.

But it left me feeling... i dunno... hollow inside. maybe if i played with people i know it'd be more fun, but all ive noticed with online players is that they're much more sloppy than even the AI.

I did however purchase Dead Space for PS3 after having seen Downfall; this is some seriously freaky shit. It reminds me of so many sci fi horror films i watched when growing up, that its just a pleasure to know this game even EXISTS!

Hey Bryce, it lookes like the demo period is now over (publicly 12th to the 19th) so I'm afraid it looks like you missed your chance. There's the likelihood of one of Valves free weekenders where you might be able to jump in though.

I'm not sure what the deal is with the 360 demo.

The Gears 2 campaign was pretty poor in my opinion - some touches of imagination spoilt by some very, very lame and very, very long vehicle areas which were almost in another engine. But that's besides the point.

The argument you're making is that by its very nature - a human variable in any gaming environment serves to create a differing to previous experience. And to an extent you're right - Though Left 4 Dead benefits from this fact on-top of the stuff it gets up to with the Director.

For example - A typical Execution mode game on the River map in gears 2 will only ever play out a certain number of ways and there are elements which even despite the human variable - you can count on. Someone will rush to one of the houses for a sniper rifle or the torque bow. And someone will always go for the Mortar. Sure, overall the rounds will be different on some sort of molecular level but the fundamental standoffs are all too often repeated. Battlefield 2 and Counterstrike Source suffer from the same - regardless of how much I enjoy them.

Due to Left 4 Deads Director - any single moment of an area can become a stand-off, with no certain weapons to pick up, no set area where zombies may erupt from and no dead-sure area where you *will* be attacked. This breathes in far more variety than you would believe. That said, I don't take much enjoyment from playing Left 4 Dead with people I don't know and I think a large part of why I have enjoyed L4D so intensely is because it's really the first co-op game which makes team-work a central aspect of its mechanic rather than just populating what was intended as a singleplayer experience with another player - something Gears tries to hide but is still guilty of. Combine this with some really great friends to play with and every disaster was a joy, every mistake was hilarious and infuriating - which made the successes a group success.

Regarding your Valve comment, I couldn't disagree more. Take Xcession's postings over at potentialgamer.com for example and you'll note that amongst us there was almost a readiness to slate valve for not delivering on such a premise. I myself was definitely apprehensive approaching Left 4 Dead though now wax lyrical about it.

Got a Russian demo off torrent. Quite fun and intense, and I love the "Feel" of shooting zombies in the game, with the detachable limbs and bullet holes appear on their bodies.

I suppose now that I've played it, I can imagine how much fun it would be online, and shall proceed to purchase it sometime soon...

(I still think Grand theft auto 4 is going to be the most fun you can have online when it hits the PC)

Yeah, absolutely. That was part of my point - a multiplayer game will almost always offer more variety and longevity within the gameplay restrictions than a single player game.

Looking at the previous GTAs, for example, after about 4 hours of playing you've generally seen everything it can do - all that remains is the story, which varies in quality. Also, oddly, the story is very linear and seems to go against the point of the series (but that's a debate for another time...).

I'm really looking forward to the multiplayer in GTA4, though.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a gigantic Valve fan (I bought a HL2DM t-shirt, in fact), but I get the feeling you guys are giving this game more credit than it deserves just because Valve made it.[/quote]

I don't think so. While I'm a huge fan of Valve's games, that's because they've created superb games that really appeal to my gaming tastes. I wouldn't be a fan of them otherwise - I don't tend to go in for meaningless corporate affiliation.

Plus, don't forget that L4D was developed outside of Valve for much of its gestation. It only became 'a Valve game' quite late in the day. As Hybrid says, we were all fearing that the game wouldn't fulfil on its promise, so this isn't blind adoration. It's adoration based on play experience, which so far has been better than anything I've played for years - maybe since those very, very early days in WoW.

Also, it's worth bearing in mind that me, schwar, Xcession and Hybrid have discussed on and off our 'perfect game' for many years now. L4D isn't it, but it ticks more of the boxes than any other game so far. It doesn't do that for us just because it's a Valve game, but because it's a good game. That's it's Valve doesn't surprise me in the slightest, of course, because they're one of the few developers in the FPS genre that are actually doing interesting things.

You run through levels with 3 friends, shooting zombies.
You say that like it's a bad thing...?

Anyway, you can reduce any FPS down to that description if you want - other than the 'with 3 friends bit', which is really the crucial element.

There's no real story,
Good! An enforced narrative would be really, really irritating in a replayable, multiplayer game like this. You don't want to play co-op through tedious cut-scenes or scripted set pieces. The story emerges through the direct experiences you have with mates - as I've mentioned before, most of the gameplay is akin to stuff that would have to be relegated to cut-scenes in other games.

And also, there's actually a lot of story in the game, you just have to look for it. That's what Valve's always been best at - incidental storytelling.

and the gameplay never really changes from the core mechanics.
Neither does chess. Does that make chess a worse game?

It sounds like an Activision game.
Eh?

I've never been a Valve fan. I missed Half Life, thought Half Life 2 was between ok and good, never played Counter Strike for more then 2 minutes and Team Fortress is totally not my thing.

And ask anyone in the live chat, I've been skeptical (to say the least) about L4D from the very beginning. But I have to say, this is the most fun I've had in a game for years, especially online.

I would really say this game brings online gaming forward a lot. It does things I've not yet seen a game do, or not that good.

Just playing that one campaign yesterday night was, as Hybrid said, absolutely intense. I laughed, I nearly cried, I yelled and sweat like a pig when a bloody witch AND a tank were aiming at me. And I shouted and cursed like a maniac when I FINALLY, being the only survivor left, ran to the helicopter into safety just to be cought by a smokers tongue about 2 seconds before salvation... I can't remember the last time a game has ever given me such a dramatic and tense emotional reaction.

Or the time I was out of ammo,a hunter jumped at me, missed me and fell 100 floors down to his death, giving me just that very second I needed to reload.

Absolutely Fantastic stuff!

I just brought this, downloaded really quickly and have got some practise in to hopefully join Sollthar and co as they tear down zombies.

Played it for about 30 mins so far. First opinion? Brilliantly designed.

The best bit last night was when we were all inside the safe room, and Xcession decided to shoot the nearby Witch. At which point I closed the door to the safe room.

Normally this wouldn't be more than an irritation, but the Witch jumped on top of Xcession, making him fall over right outside the door. As a result, when we tried to open the door to go save him, it just got jammed against his flailing body.

We laughed.

So what's the likeliness that this game is going to get content added to it relatively soon?

The best bit last night was when we were all inside the safe room, and Xcession decided to shoot the nearby Witch. At which point I closed the door to the safe room.

Normally this wouldn't be more than an irritation, but the Witch jumped on top of Xcession, making him fall over right outside the door. As a result, when we tried to open the door to go save him, it just got jammed against his flailing body.

We laughed.
You missed the most epic ending in that game so far. Xcession and this french dude (Who took your place Tarn) were watching each others backs, me and Sollthar watching each others. When rescue finally came we went to run for it but a smoker got Sollthar and lured him in.

Me and Xcession decided to run and save him and Sollthars screaming down the headset, "Save yourselves!" at which point Xcession pulled him up which I shot the zombies down. From there it was an epic run back to the rescue APC thing and we just made it by a split second of our lives.

However our Pipe bomb and Molotov throwing skills in that house was amazing after at least 25 tries. Oh and I'm sorry about my dodgy Molotov throwing still smile

Indeed. Hopefully mid-December we'll be able to arrange something 'official', once the Christmas Rush here in the offices is more-or-less under control!

8-player Versus match between FXhomers sounds good to me.

If people want to say if they're up for it, and what days/times are good for them it'd be cool, then we'll know when's best to do it. (if possible, try to convert the time to GMT as well, so that we're all on the same system...)

p.s. Had my first experience of 'Versus' mode last night. I never thought tongueing Xcession would be so exhilerating.

Me and er-no decided to be bored idiots tonight and...well...I found the console and we had so much fun biggrin

Sadly, er-no startled his sisters....friend(s) and it all came down to a horrific massacre

Luckily we escaped. And messed aroudn some more. biggrin

This game is totally worth getting it, and next year we can promise some L4D nights or even GTA 4 nights wink

Just got my copy of the game. I had been on the fence for a while, but the holiday sale finally got me to buy it. So far it's been good fun, although I imagine with voice chat up and stuff it's even more fun.

Speaking of which, I see B3N and er-no on right now! I can't join their games, though.

I played with Arreck and Arkane in two separate games yesterday but I doubt they know it. I'm not even sure who they are on here.

Just did a search and Arreck is Pooky.

btw I'm dangerman in the FXhome group if anyone wants to play.

No, Arreck is not Pooky. It's my account, but my brother used it to buy the PC version of L4D (I'm on the 360 with the same name).

So once again, if you're playing with Arreck, it's my immature 14 year old brother.

<--- Arkane. I realized you had been in my game like 5 minutes after you left, aenigma. I shift-tabbed and was like O WUT THAT'S DANGERMAN! but you had already ran off somewhere.

Hopefully some day this week/weekend we can get a Left 4 Dead thing going with all FXHome players. Nothin' like a good old FXHome bonding time over some widespread mutant rabies viruses.

EDIT: Wow, that arrow up there is fail. But yeah. I'm Arkane.

In FXHomeland, you don't age. Pooky has been 14 for a good 5 years now.

Just got the game today for 360. It's amazing. I was just about to complete the first mission, then a smoker grabbed me from the helicopter, and the horde swarmed me until I couldn't move. Then my partners abandoned me and the tank finished the job. razz

Tried going through Dead Air on Expert with schwar, B3N and fallen yesterday. It didn't work. smile

On the second map we were two men down, and about 50 metres from the safe room. Not that many zombies around, so we think "LEG IT!" At that exact moment a Tank bounds out of the building opposite, and utterly crushes us. Very mean.

Expert is great, though - absolutely impossible, but brilliantly tense fun.

If you take it slowly enough Expert is really good fun and just about do-able. Only problem is I still haven't survived an expert campaign, I like to be the heroic one who goes back for people, problem with that is that the Tank seems to know about this.

It's either the tank or a hunter.

Got the 'cr0wned' (one shot witch kill) achievement whilst playing with B3N the other night. Was well chuffed biggrin

Yeah, along with two random players and we're both stood on the stairs going "Wooooooooo! yeah!" and they're just staring. Hehe, I still need it!

However I remember you and me one night when a tank came running at us and instead of shooting it I hit it with the shotgun razz

L4D is seriously great fun. anyone whos played it will recommend it biggrin

We seriously need to organise some proper 8 player FXhome Versus matches.

Now that Xmas is out the way, do people have enough free time to organise something?

When I'm online in steam, I'm here. Don't mind the "away", it sets that automatically. When I'm actually "AWAY", I turn steam off.

So anytime you guys play and see me online on steam, no matter what stance, give me a shout and chances are, I'll join. smile

Oh hell yes!

And I have enough free time to try sorting stuff out.
However if anyone else wants to sort something you too can actually host a server!

Thanks to Valves new server system you can use a dedicated server by searching for one. I myself think that's pretty awesome. But yes, Versus matches anyone?

Come on, you all know you wanna ride me wink
