Am I correct that if I purchase VisionLab I also need to purchase Adobe After effects to produce lightning effects? Or can I produce lightning bolts etc with just Visionlab?

There is a lightning engine built into Visionlab, yes.
It would be silly to have to buy an After Effects Plug-in to use Lightning in Visionlab.

Thanks. I thought it was a bit weird but it was the wording on the VisionLabs spec page that confused me. Thanks for the clarification.

The lighting engine from VisionLab is also available as a plug-in for After Effects. So for people who already have AE, but want to use the lighting engine, they don't have to buy the entire VisionLab package.
