Hi all

After quite a bit of work we added our 2 new stock packs to our shop at http://www.nccinema.ch

DUST EXPLOSIONS

The first pack is a package of dust/sand/smoke Explosions. No fire, but debris and smoke blown up. Ideal for WW2 sequences, mortars, bullet impacts on sand or simply to add that bit of realism to your fire explosions by adding actual debris.

For a video example, have a look at the WW2 beach video here:
http://fxhome.com/learn/beach-landing-and-superheroes

GORE PACKAGE

And we have a new blood and gore package speficially designed for digital bullet wounds and slimey blood splatter effects. You can composit a digital bullet wound complete with running blood and everything.

For a video example, click here
http://www.nccinema.ch/gore.mov

So if you're interested, get them over at http://www.nccinema.ch

These are both very cool packs. We made extensive use of both of them in the beach landing sequence:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=GOJyKPQoM9s

(Don't forget to switch to 'high quality' on that Youtube link)

I highly recommend all of Sollthar's packs, they're great.

We've also got a selection of NCC's stock footage in our own stock section:

Very cool stuff.
I like how the gore looks like it is actually ripping through flesh and has an origin as opposed to just an exit wound that magically comes from nowhere.

Is the gore stock pack pre-keyed or against white?

It's against white, so you can easily pre-key and post-key the footage.

I realize that it may be implied, but these are plug-in effects for VisionLab or Effects Lab? or are these intended to be used w/ chroma-key?

These are single stock clips, not specifically for VLab or ELab. They can be used with any compositing tool. Including VLab an Elab of course. smile

thanks Sollthar. I'm just starting out with adding effects with the machinima bits I do, FxHome's Vlab was my first step. Nice to know there are some added goodies available in the community to use.

I was going to hold off buying this for the time being then got an email from sollthar with an upgrade option for existing stock pack owners, it was hard to refuse.

I've just downloaded them, and the gun wounds look amazing, I can't wait to try them out. The dust and debris footage will also nicely complement the hd explosions.

I was just about to upgrade as well, but the page I got was for fire and fog instead of the explosions and gore.. Is that mistake on that page?

Whoa, there were the wrong templates loaded. Sorry about that. crazy

Corrected now. Obviously, you get the correct packs when you upgrade. Just the image and text template was wrong.

All good now. redface

Hi there,

I just read here about "updating" the existing package. I didn't got an eMail like this, maybe my mother got one (she buyed it back than, because I didn't had any Paypal in 2007) but deleted it. Well, I don't live with my mother anymore, but is there still an option to upgrade the Super-Stock pack? I wanted to buy the Gore-Package, but the Dust looks sweet, too smile

So, there's any way left? unsure

Regards,
Lucas

1) In your Super syock package is that all of the clips on 1 disk or is that just small previews of each type like FXhomes. HERE> http://fxhome.com/footage/special-effects or is it actually all the disks put together?

2)Do you digitally download them after you buy them? If not how much is shippping?

3)How do you remove the white background if I put it in Effectslab? I know the black usually automatically disappears. Does the white?

4)Are they in HD?

Sorry for all the questions! They look really good and I think I will buy them if all goes right.
Yours truely,

1) As explained on the site, our super stock pack contains ALL the clips from ALL 8 packs.

2) digital download. You can also redownload them at any time again should you lose the clips (providing your receipt)

3) The white background needs a multiply compositing mode. I'm not sure if Effectslab is able to do that, as Effectslab isn't a compositing tool.

4) Yes, they're in 720p

I composit with Final Cut Pro or Visionlab and simply set to "multiply" mode. A matter of a few clicks.

Erm, since YOU are the one looking for a free compositing tool, YOU should try googling them. I got all I need. And no, I don't know how to use any of them nor am I interested in finding it out, since I don't use them and don't plan to. wink

No problem. I'm sure they'll come with a manual though. What you're looking for is a compositing mode called "multiply" which keys out white. It's a very basic thing in fact.

Why do people bother writing commments (especially snotty ones like the one above) in such small writing? If you don't have the stones to make your comments easy to read then don't bother typing them at all

Sollthar, the clips look great and couldn't have come at a better time for me. I'll definitely be purchasing once I have a few more shoots of my new film under my belt!

Storm, there's no such thing (I think) as good, free, and un-watermarked explosions. If there were, no one would want the ones that cost.

We will buy them because we wants them, precious! Gollum, gollum!

I especially like the blood and gore. It adds that next level of realism (or overkill lol) to a gunfight.
