i am very pleased with VLS, over the moon in fact!!
as well as my other hobbies of video gaming and movies, doing VFX and tinkering around with FX home products has also become a new hobby of mine!!
i find it very satisfying once something is achieved! smile

so is there plans for future versions of VLS please? and if so will any new features be thrown in the mix?

if you dont mind me saying, i would love to see -

-undo of @ least x10

-be able to select more than more layer on the timeline with either 'select all' or a drag 'n' drop sweep of the mouse like in final cut or garage band where you can select the various tracks by holding down the mouse

- maybe different sizes to the timeline, where you could have the timeline shorter or fatter etc

-and would it be possible to save an effect, i mean once its been worked on, say for e.g drag and drop that to the side while you work on another, without rendering it first, maybe have a separate section where stuff you are working on, or are finished, are kept there plus you could pull layers out that may be needed in similar scenes!

i hope you guys dont mind me making a couple of suggestions, these are not digs @ your software, far from it! like i said i am LOVING VLS, but be nice to know what improvments are gonna get worked on and maybe new features for the next version smile

cheers!!

I agree with you, some of these features would be nice, and its a honor to have such a credited stunts man on the FXhome forums! Note to Fxhome "You should interview this guy."

if you come up with an original effect of your own you can save it as a pre-set in vision lab. I've made a few of these and it helps save time. I'm not sure what they'll come up with next but I'm sure it'll be great just like all of their other products. But you already know this. biggrin

We're always cautious of revealing future plans, because so much can change between now and when the product is finally released. smile

In the past we've made mistakes by getting over-excited during development and telling everyone everything - all it tends to do is put a huge amount of pressure on the development team.

Suffice to say...we have lots of exciting plans. smile

I want dual screen capabilities and be able to resize sections of the page. What's the point of having two screens if I can't use them with my favorite software? Dual screen makes FCP so much easier to work in.

How about a universal binary for Mac? That'd be a start. Rosetta sucks! razz

In my mighty intelligence and intellectual powers (razz), I suggest a movie-based feature of VisionLab. Taking movies that are famous/have famous effects, and put a feature in for each of them. Just an idea.

I think that's a pretty cool idea. "Superman's laser vision", "Cylon/Night Rider red eye", "Star Wars blasters", "Stargate gate fx". Could be very cool and handy to have a few presets like that smile

Ah, that's what he meant. Not a bad idea, but isn't there already a ton of presets like that though?

Yeah but you gotta search for them. If they were split into certain "movie" groups it'd be easier to find though pretty much only useful for fanfilms I guess. Perhaps a "Fanfilm Effects" folder?

What would be useful is an editable heirarchy for the installed presets, where you could create folders and rename them and organize the presets that way.
