Welcome to 2009! Everyone here at FXhome is back in the office as of today, so we'll be working through the communications backlog as fast as we can. If you've emailed us over the last couple of weeks and haven't heard back yet, you can expect a response in the next few days.

It's also worth noting that our big Xmas discounts and bundle deals are still available while stocks last or until January 31st - head over to the store for full details!

We hope everyone had a great holiday and New Year. Let's hope 2009 is even better for movies and filmmaking than 2008!

Hey hey, hope everyone had a good new years, and also hopefully a good, well-needed couple of weeks off - got a lot stuff done myself, both filmmaking-related and more. Oh, and I slept a lot razz

Anyone got any cool projects for 2009? Myself, I'm working on my latest film, which has been in production since June last year and has taken up most of my free time smile

I've got a few things bubbling away...going to finally finish my book in the first half of the year. Come November I'll be having a go at NaNoWriMo, too, which I suppose is the writing equivalent of those bonkers 24 hour film festivals that Atom and Ben are always doing.

Got a short film and a web mini-series on the back-burner, but whether they see the light of day will depend on my writing projects.

Plus, of course, there's Potential Gamer, which I'll be continuing to write.

I commence filming on my next feature length film this sunday smile

Right now I'm busy trying to source lights for the green screen, additional costumes, prop guns, doing the storyboards, getting more electrical equipment than I can fit into my flat, harrassing my cast to make sure they are going to turn up, making sure they know where to go, what to wear, what scenes they'll be doing, researching a last minute dolly rig, blood rigs (oh christ I need to get fishing wire as well).

Please somebody kill me.

I've got a bunch of projecs actualy, each very different from the other (action/humour/music/advertisement/who-knows-what-else). Hopefully I'll finish some of them this year. We actually plan on taking some stunt driving shots this week (we finally got snow here, just few days ago - that should help).

Hope we will all have and interesting, and productive year.

I'm hoping that my band ( www.myspace.com/belowthesmile ) will get our first full-length album completed and released. Our first EP is now available from iTunes, as discussed in this thread.

I don't anything too big planned, just another highschool english project that I'll be helping out with again, but this time I'm getting the change to go to a local studio thats about a ten minute walk from the school. The place is going to let me use their equipment (Sony PD 150[I believe], Boom mics ect.) and I'm guessing some of the facility which includes a ministudio and a larger one both with green or blue screens. So this will be a great alternative to what I filmed Asbestosfield with (My Sony Handycam DCR-HV26) and with the membership to the studio I get access to a lot of their stuff and what ever I film goes on the local TV station. So things are looking up, and im excited I actualy am going to be able to use mics insted of the onboard mic in my handycam which proved to be a big problem in Asbestosfield. Thats all I've got for now, but I want to start investing some money into making a good solid short film. Happy New Years Fxhomers.

Happy New Year!

This year I'm hoping to shoot two short films that I've been working on towards the end of 08. 'The Acquitted' and 'The Cromwell Alert'. On top of that I'm writing my feature and looking at going to filmschool.

Good times!

I wish everyone well and may 2009 be a good one for us all.

I'm not really sure what I'll end up doing film-wise, but next week I'm flying to Greece to study abroad for the semester! I might brainstorm some short film ideas while soaking up a totally different culture, but I'm not really sure yet.

I think I'm in the wrong place! You are all so clever -obviously - and I'm just an amateur - an old one at that, but IO am so interested in the programmes and so want to learn. I do quite a lot of videoing (holidays, parties and friends weddings) but oh dear I am no where near as good as you very clever people. Any way am going to strive this year to do better.

I wouldn't worry, Siobhan. Everybody starts somewhere, after all! A lot of these guys are lucky in that they've grown up with the technology being a normal part of their lives.

Ashman only appeared on the site and started getting deep into filmmaking a few years ago, and he's made enormous progress since then. As long as you put the time and effort in, it'll pay off. smile

Happy new year all,
Well, with me working in the new car industry, firstly im going to see if i can remain employed, god willing. Secondly im going to stop doing endless tests and actually do something constructive like a short film *L* but as Siobhan said, being a newcomer to all this stuff isn't the easiest thing in the world, so much to learn and so little time but be rest assured, ill be sucking up loads of inspiration from the ppl here.

biggrin

Best wishes everyone for the coming year

Paul
