What are the steps you need to follow to have someone look like they are being hit by a car

Never tried it but...
1. use a tri pod and make sure it doesn't move.
2. footage of the car driving by.
3. greenscreen footage of your actor pretending to get hit.
4. composite the actor and car footage together.
or, this will take longer to do.
1. same as above.
2. same as above.
3. have a short clip of the actor walking then pretending to get hit near the spot where the car should be traveling.
4. no keying out a greenscreen but it will take some masking.
Use a "garbage matte" because it will follow quad animation if you want the actor to fly off the screen in any direction you choose or if you want to make the actor look like he flips over the car or something.
Regular masks don't follow the quad. I found that out the hard way.

This tutorial is for after effects, but you can put the concept into style in FX Home Vision Lab

This is actually very simple. It can be done in Effects Lab even.

First get tripod or something sturdy to hold your camera on.

Point it at a road where cars come by, but not a busy street.

Wait for a car to come by and video tape it.

Right after car goes by do not touch the camera! Run into the middle of the street where the car went by and act like yGoou see in and kind of wince, but do not jump or anyting.

Then get get both videos and overlay them, like add media and put on on top of the other. Then time it right so the actor winces right as the car touches him.

Mask the side where the car is so it looks like on video clip.

Then in any photo editor take the frame right where the actor winces and cut him out. Save as png.

Go back and end the video where your actor is so it is only the car.

Put the picture in where the actor once stood and maybe add some motion blur, (angled blur works fine.)

Now just animate the picture with the car however you want too, maybe add blood if you feel it necassary.

Then render it and there you go!

Hope this helps!

i have done it

first get a green screen/blue screen smile

after that get someone to drive past the camera

remember a tripod

after that stand in front of a green screen and pretend to fall

then key it in by composite lab or vision lab

after that go through the frames adjusting and rotating yourself so it looks like you are falling on the bonnet.
