The easiest way is to greenscreen the person in front as well. If you can't, such as in that example, you use a mask to block out the area covered by the other person or object.

to start with put you self infront of where you want to be behind
then there will be someone infront i guess. garbage mat out the bit infront of the guy, then your guy looks as though he is behind
