What do you mean by categories? Are you talking about presets, or about Effects Engines?

sorry I was not clear. In toolbox there are the three tabs effects, media and info. When I click on effects the sub Categories are listed like grade objects, laser ect. can another category be added like people or fog ect.to place presets in. It would make it easier to find them if I can place them in other names than the ones that came with the program.Thank You axeman for your time.JIm

Nope, you can't add other categories. All of those buttons in the Effects tab are separate Effects Engines. The presets are nothing more than a set of numbers that get applied to the various controls of an effects engine to create a certain effect. They aren't video clips or anything of that sort. I think there's just a small misunderstanding regarding the fuction of the engines here; they aren't "categories" for organization so much as they are the various abilities of the program.

You can't have a preset that creates people, and video clips can't be stored in the program, so that type of category wouldn't really be useful. What could be useful is the ability to create subcategories within each effects engine, so you could select the particles engine, for example, and then a sub folder of "Smoke and Fog" would be in the list of presets. Is this what you meant? It isn't currently possible, but its a good idea.

Pretty good idea!! That would be cool, but if you were storing files in categories IN your product it would take AGES for your product to startup.
