I have EffectsLab and I downloaded some Alamdv2 plugins and imported them into effectslab and put them on my canvas and the picture just showed up on top of the existing video so that the background of the added image was transparent. I was wondering how to make an image that you can add in like that. Is there an easy way to do that?

If the background is black, the clip will default to Screen composite, which will remove the black background quite nicely, but also tends to make the rest of the clip a bit transparent, which is ideal for stock clips of explosions and the like, but is wrong for lots of other things.

The images you are talking about most likely have a proper alpha channel embedded. If you create an image with an alpha channel to remove any bits that you don't want to be visible, EffectsLab automatically detects the alpha channel and applies it to the images when you import them.
