Does anyone know how to create the poster effect from Photoshop?

I have seen the effect but I don't have photoshop and I need the preset for a project that is on a deadline

You mean the Posterize effect? If so, I recommend the Posterize filter in CompositeLab Pro. smile

Then you need to give more info, please. Lots and lots more info. There are probably somewhere around 6 billion and 4 posters that have been made in Photoshop. They use probably every effect possible in Photoshop among them. If the effect is something you have seen on a poster, a link showing the effect would be helpful, or at the very least, a description of what it looks like. If it is some other effect in Photoshop containing the word Poster, some more info about that would be good too, such as where it is found in the program. There isn't anything like that, as far as I know, but I am still running CS2, so maybe it is a feature in a newer version?

taking a wild stab in the dark but you aren't looking for the sort of credit text that's usually at the bottom of posters are you?

Because if you are then you're in luck as nfsbuff posted this gem a few days ago!

Hope that helps,
