Hello,
I have recently purchased this program, which is Compositelab. I am filming in front of a chroma-key backdrop, but how do I put a picture or video behind what I shot? I watched the instructional videos on the FX Home Website, but it failed to tell me how to do this. If anybody could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

At what point are you running into problems?

Can you import the background ok? If not, it may be an issue with the format of the background you are using.

Are you having difficulty actually applying the key, to remove the background from the greenscreen clip? If so, some info about which keying filters you are using, as well as an image or clip of the footage, would be helpful in pointing you in the right direction.

Are you having difficulty getting the background onto the timeline? If so, I recommend taking the time to view these tutorials on the basics of the interface.

Are you having problems getting the background behind the greenscreen footage after they are both on the timeline? If so, you just need to re-order the layers on the timeline. Again, this tutorial will familiarize you with the core concepts of the program.

If your problem lies elsewhere, in something I haven't covered, let us know more specifics so we can get you sorted out.

Make sure that you are using the compositing and Grading tutorials. The others will mean nothing.

Hmmm, I disagree. I think the Interface tutorials, which I linked in my previous post, are the most important of the bunch, and are equally applicable to all of the Lab products.

the problem is that I can key out the green in the screen, but I can not put my movie clip behind my other clip, where it is supposed to be. But however, I can key out the green screen until the background is black.

On the timeline,
1st place your background footage on the time line.
2nd place your greenscreen clip on the timeline and key it.
You should then be able to see the background.

Alot of people do this in reverse because you can left mouse click on an objects "video" name on the timeline, then drag and re-arrange the video clips.
Watch those tutorials as many times as you like till you get the hang of it. I go back every couple of weeks and watch again just in case.
Good luck.
