Alright, so I know the presets are just for members. sleep(cry) And I really want to use the presets but I haven't bought an Fxhome product "yet". So if I buy a product like the WW2 Beach Landing, can I register that to FXhome and be allowed to use the presets? Or would I have to buy Visionlab or Effectslab? I appreciate it.

(this is probably a stupid post (sorry), but common sense leads me to beleive that I would NOT be allowed to use the presets, but hope tells me just maybe this'll work) biggrin

In order to use FXpresets you'll need one of the Lab products: VisionLab, EffectsLab or CompositeLab.

The presets aren't actually effects in and of themselves, they require the engines and filters that are found in the Lab products to do anything. Each preset is essentially just a list of settings for the tools found within the programs. This is why you need to purchase one of the apps to be able to use them.

Hold it, hold on a second. You need to buy an FXhome product to use the presets? How come I'm constantly using presets on my VisionLab and CompositeLab demos? Is it cause I bought EffectsLab?

Look at it this way.
FXHome presets are plug-ins to it's own softwares, shortcuts to various of engine adjusts and settings.

It's the shoe to a football player, those kind of shoes doesn't go well with anything else than football.

All of the demos come with presets already installed. The ones we were discussing are the others that are available from the site. If you were referring to additional presets you downloaded as well, then yes, it is because you own EffectsLab, which gives you access to the preset library.

I mean that I'm downloading presets onto my demos. Is that because I have one of the full versions?

Basically you own Effectslab and have registered Effectslab, this gives you access to the presets libary in the Downloads area of the website. However you can only download the presets that work with Effectslab.

Actually, I'm pretty sure owning any Lab product gives you access to the full library, so having a license for EffectsLab will enable you to download and install presets in the CompositeLab demo, for example.

Ok, so if this is true. Then why doesn't everybody just buy effects lab then download the presets into the visionlab demo? That would save us like 300 dollars!

Not really. From my understanding, there are many things that can only be used in VLAb, and aren't supported by ELab. Yes, you could get the presets to use with the Vision Lab demo by owning effectslab, but they would not work with vision lab. Also if you put them into the demo version, there iesa an FX Home water mark when you export it, so the footage is realtivley useless unless you own VLab.

Some people respect copyright and aren't just looking to rip people off, that's one reason why. Also, as mentioned, the VisionLab demo renders with a watermark, so the footage is completely useless for anyone trying to get actual work done.

Except that I'm downloading lightning and using it on my VisionLab demo.

Actually, there's more than that one watermark. There's fainter banners all over the screen. Isn't instantly noticeable, but it messes up the footage. Cruel, cruel you are, FXhome! *sob*

If your not going to respect the time and effort that this team gave up to create such a great line of products, instead of just moaning that the demo like every other product has a watermark and from reading this I get a vibe that you'd rather have the product for free...nothings free man.

And yes ok you can download the presets and use them in the demo but you still have to buy the full version to be able to use it's full features.

See, if it were me, and somehow I had found a way to circumvent the system (albeit stupidly) - I wouldn't be blabbing about it on the website I'm ripping the intellectual property from. It's bad for you, and it's bad for business.

I didn't circumvent the system. I just noticed the watermarks.

And come on, B3N. I'm not actually upset with FXhome; I can see their reasons. Heck, you can't post a joke on here without a literalist thinking you're serious.

Well, most pirates probably are stupid (hmm, see above, a prime example of a potental pirate beIng extremely obvious on the software makers website! wall ). Otherwise they'd have an honest living and actually pay for the software rather than stealing it. Sort of like how the jail robbers 95% of the time get caught- because they drop their wallet or something biggrin
