will not import

i have made a test video with speical effects but when i import to windwos movie maker or camstasia it says somthing about codec help! evil

This sounds like an After Effects issue then, as you don't render out directly from the plug-ins in After Effects. but if you perchance rendered to any Quicktime format (does the file end in .mov?) then it won't be compatible with WMM.

If you rendered to avi, then you will just have to install whatever codec you rendered to onto you system so that WMM can read the files.
