I made a project a few months ago about a historical event. However I didn't have a very good background (parks don't look like battlefields) and I want to replace it. However I couldn't do green screen because i didn't (and I still don't have)one is there another way to remove the background.

You can carefully draw a mask around the actor in each frame and remove the background. Its extremely time consuming, a bit difficult, and no fun at all, but it does enable you to replace the background, and is still a process used somewhat regularly on major film productions. It won't take long to understand why they only use it when no other process is possible.

You might find it effective to use more than one mask.
