First of all i wan't to thank you for a great product that has helped me so much when i shoot on greenscreen in my studio.

1. It would be great to have the possibility to make multiple selections of foreground pictures and delete many at the same time.
Today when i batchrun hundreds of photos shoot at both portrait and landscape orientation it's a lot of work when i have run the first batch with for example portrait orientation and then have to delete all of those pictures one by one to be able to run the next batch with landscape orientation since the background picture is locked to only one orientation.

2. It would be great to set a default project loader when i start Photokey Pro 2 so all the settings i have saved in project file sets all my standard values in the program. Right now every time when i start the program and choose to open my project file the program say "Do you want to save the changes to untitled project" even if i didn't make any changes.

3. Would love a image sharpness slider before exporting images.

4. please continue to add more color effects like you have done with sepia and black and white, all to increase the speed in workflow.

5. Since i have tried everything regarding removing the ultra thin green lines that is surrounding everyone i shoot and i have tried so many lightning settings and i see it usual on many other users photo.
I would like some type of mask painting tool or something so i can get rid of the teasing outerlines that makes the difference between a great photo and a amateur like it feels right now.
The only tool i have right now is to use the light spill effect to get rid of the worst but it does not look great.

6. I have read that a magenta light filter can delete the green spill in mostely hair.
Is this true? So i know before i buy the filters and lamps to try it.

7. The last request for improvement of this already fantastic software is the possibilty to add a graphical/text embedded watermark when exporting previews to customers.

Many thanks from a satisfied greenscreen photographer in Sweden.

Some good ideas there, which I'm sure will be considered by the team.

As far as 5 and 6 go, are you using the spill suppression? If so, have you tried switching to the Extended mode for it? If you are having issues with haloing, try to get more distance between your subjects and greenscreen when shooting, preferably 5 or 6 feet or more. The light spill isn't really intended to compensate for spill, but rather to help blend your foreground and background together.

And as to 7, if you create an overlay of the watermark you want to add, then its easy enough to drop it in over he top of the photos for previews. You just need to create an alpha channeled image containing whatever text you want as the watermark, then use the Overlay tool in PhotoKey to add it over your Photos. Not quite as simple as an integral text tool, perhaps, but it also allows you to create watermarks featuring graphics or logos, and not just text alone.

I too would like to be able to "save" a "project" so that I dont have to rebuild different versions from scratch... the project file would have all the parameters saved and the images currently loaded.....

ukmerlin - PhotoKey Pro has the ability to save project. You can upgrade to Pro in the store.

FXhomer84319 - All great suggestions, I have forwarded them to the development team.

please put in a feature that supports dual-screen setup.

With one monitor used for the fxhome software, and the other just a preview. It would be great to use while shooting on events.

Hello everyone.
I'm RJS of Ana's IkiMaru.
In 2009 i purchased FXhome PhotoKey 2 for my Studio.
Having a save file feature sure would be great.
I read the above posts and i'm aware that i can purchase the pro version.
The software is great and when i get more $$$ i'll buy the pro.
For now i'll just suffer a little longer.
To help others i suggest exporting without a background as a .png
(goto your toolbar click on Import - on the right click on the check box next to background - this will disable the background photo.
And now you can use the photo many times over.
This is very handy when a client wants a different background after you've done most of your work.

One more feature i'd like to see in this software.
Some sort of ability to add metadata info to the photo if i choose, or
maybe the option to put something like this: ©2009 IkiMaru
With a basic text tool.
Currently as a work around to the ©2009 IkiMaru i'm using a .png file i made in photoshop.

Please, ditch the horizontal and vertical position sliders and let us move the image around with the mouse. It would be SO much faster.

I agree, DITCH THE SLIDERs.. Control+ to make the foreground bigger and Control- to make it smaller. Then just use the mouse to move the image. the sliders are flakey and take too much time.

New imported images should go to the top of the import box
Now, new imported images are put at the bottom of the list. Problem is once you have filled the box, you need to scroll down to find the new one. Too many keystrokes in a fast-paced environment.

I use BreezePro for straight non-chroma key photobooth applications. They offer a one-click take the picture and print it out solution. People stand in place, i click the button and 10 seconds later, the picture prints out. I really don't even need to be there except to change the zoom.

FXHOME has a lot of extra keystrokes which I believe can be eliminated. Speed is absolutely key.

Deleting images in import box.

There seems to be no way to delete multiple files at the same time. I have to hit the '-' button for each and then answer a confirmation box. This take way too much time to do. CMD-A to select all and then the delete key to erase them all

instead of working with 1 background/foreground/overlay it would be great to work with 2 foregrounds, so you can have 2 seperate people on a picture but combine those 2 in 1 photoframe.

and still the wish of being capable importing more than 1 background and overlay image

It would be great if there would be an option do automatically load new photos from the hot folder, apply all settings made and display it immediately after the shot was taken and to save it without user interaction. PLEASE PLEASE add this functionality!

agree with this function, still the support for a dual screen (second screen is fullscreen preview) is my nr1 on the wishlist

I do a lot of green screen head shots. A nice feature to add to PhotoKey is horizontal and vertical guides. This will help size the heads more uniformly. Right now I'm having to count the individual squares on the background (before image is imported) to help size my model's head accordingly. Having guides would be a huge time saver.

The guidelines idea is great.
As a cumbersome work around, if you're not using the "Overlay" feature for your output images, you could create a guidelines image to be used as an overlay to help sizing. Load the "guidelines" image in to overlay, and turn it on when you're resizing, then turn it off again before export.
Again ... not ideal, but could be faster than counting squares.

Hotkey for Add/Change Foreground Button?

Would be great if there were a hotkey for the Add/Change Foreground Button.
I use the Export hotkey all the time, but didn't see anything in the help about an Foreground Import hotkey.

One thing I'm finding is that PhotoKey is having a bit of difficulty with whites and blacks in my subjects' clothing.

Since these colors start out with virtually no difference between color channels, they tend to become transparent if they pick up just a bit of spill from the background screen (I'm using this for youth sports players, so I don't get to pick the wardrobes).

Since these tend to happen with near-black and near-white colors be nice if we had luma-based cut-off sliders to essentially auto-mask these pixels as being excluded from the keying operation. (Unless there's some other technique that would achieve this already).

First, what a great product.
Now some suggestions

1. Would be nice to have an original view button next to the matte
button. This would save mouse clicks when in mask mode so you can
quickly view the original image against the masked image for color
correctness on clothes.

2. We have set up default project that retains a lot of settings as we
start new projects. The one default that we can't set is the retain
alpha when we create a new mask. I'm thinking that this should be
the default anyway as we are more frequently masking the subject
than we are working on the background. In lieu of setting this as a
program default, maybe add a preferences list menu item.

3. This one falls under protecting us from ourselves.
Frequently, when we are masking and we have zoomed in on image
we will fail to hold the spacebar when we click to pan the image.
This causes the entire mask we are drawing to move. It would nice to
have an Undo so the mask repositions itself back in place.

4. Make the toolbar at the bottom of image movable. When zoooming and
panning it often is over a portion of the image we are working on.

5. Zoom retention as we move from image to image. Again this could be
part of a preferences file.

Totally agree. This should be a button next to "matte view" and it should have a hot-key too.

Incidentally, the work around I've been using is to go into the Key mode to un-check the "auto color difference key" and "Spill suppression" panels. This puts the the original image in view with only crop, masks and effects applied. Very cumbersome for now, but a lifesaver when a someone shows up to a shoot wearing a green shirt and blue pants. :p

Another wish...
I'd love to be able to see the file name of the current image displayed in the Import mode's "Foreground" and "Background" panels.
Sometimes I'll forget just which file I've got loaded, especially when trying out different poses or versions.

This could be either added to the panel title (i.e. "Foreground: IMG_0006.jpg") or in an HUD-style overlay like the image resolution works now.

Thanks.

I agree with all the improvements mentioned so far. I especially would like to see a drop shadow feature added. I also agree with ditch the position sliders...the mouse would be a much better way to move the images around. I am using FX 3 and love it. The range on the "Extended"
green edge removal could be a little more as I run it at 100% all the time. It has worked so far as I keep the subjects 6 feet away from the rear screen and do use a very small amount of magenta back light so I haven't had any problems with the spill yet. Rather than having to covert up to the Pro version of FX Photokey 3 why not offer an update with some of these suggestions for a small fee??

In PhotoKey 3 you can use the mouse to reposition things, the sliders are no longer necessary. Once the position controls are selected you can click and drag directly on the canvas to reposition things.

You set up the canvas size and shape in the Canvas Toolset. It is fully adjustable at any point, but you can't drag it to a new shape.

OK .. I usually just set the canvas to "as Foreground" and use the crop sliders as a quick-n-dirty garbage matte before pulling up the matte tool if more is needed. Was just wondering if the crop edges could be moved on the canvas in Keying mode without resorting to sliders.

Not a biggie ... just would be cool.

They've actually gone a step past this, as you can get PhotoKey as a plug-in for Photoshop, and have unlimited control over the layers, if you don't want to do your final composite in PhotoKey.

And of course, you can save a PhotoKey project to be able to go back and manipulate the layers within PhotoKey at a later date.

Not that layered export isn't a good idea for the future, I just wanted to give a heads-up that all of the capabilities it provides are already in place.

The ability for the software to recognise printer profiles would be great.
