Slo mo, or just slow it down to not go so fast? I'll try to help.

Lengthen the effect until it's as long as you want it (two seconds, half a minute, etc.) then move the keyframes apart the appropriate distance to slow down its movement/changes, if there are any.

If you want to slow down a clip, then its quite easy; right-click the clip on the timeline, select Speed, and change the speed as you see fit. If you want to change the speed of an effect, you still can, but exactly how you do it will depend on the type of effect you are working with. If everything in general is rendering out too fast, then you probably buggered up the project settings when you created the project, and they don't match your footage.

Is that the de-interlacing way to do it?
I tried that once but the video had those weird lines running across it.

On the same note... I did figure out a way to get a real smooth looking slow motion effect without having to de-interlace a video clip or having to buy one of those slow-motion cameras that shoot video at a faster frame rate.

I got the idea for it last August when I was trying out After Effects. It has a slow-mo type feature but it's not as great as they make it sound.

If anyones' interested I'll make a tutorial on how to get this effect. it does take a little bit of time but the results are freaking great.

I tried it on a regular clip that I had and also on one of Solthars' stock explosions. I just wanted to see a slow-mo explosion. It was pretty sweet looking too but in my insomniac delerium, I accidentally deleted the clips.

So like I said... if you guys want? Then I will.

Sure Spyderhunk - i'd be interested in seeing that tutorial if you did one.. I think there would be plenty of people out there who would appreciate seeing new things done with the software.. Please let us know if/when you can make one..!

Right on man.
I'll do my best to have it up within the next couple of days.
I think I need a better screen capture software though. The one I have now acts really weird. I'll tell it to record 30 frames per second but it only seems to record when the mouse is moving so I have to figure out what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for the interest.

I recommend CamStudio (camstudio.org)...
It's very similar to Camtasia....

And it's FREE!!!
