Last night and this morning I encountered a problem I have not come across before- I had created a fire effect with the inferno setting; the timeline looked fine and the preview render was okay, however when I went for the final render the fire effect came out as blocks of white blur where the fire was supposed to be. I tried rendering numerous times switching from multi-layered to single file and the results were the same. Any suggestions?

I had a similar thing happen with the zig zag comet preset. For some reason all my key frames were ignored, and all I had was an emitter in the centre of the screen emitting red squares tard

Hi Mike,
Were you able to remedy the problem?
Thanks,
FXTony

Kind of, I dragged the same clip on to the time line, in the same position as the corupted preset, then copied and pasted all my key frames over to the new preset, and then deleted the old (not working right) preset. Seemed to work okay.

White squares would indicate an issue with the texture images. Did you perhaps move or delete the texture images that are required for the effect? Which texture files are currently listed in the effect settings?

Just to be clear: You can preview render the effect right now and it looks good, but when you go to export render the texture files get skipped?

As far as I know I did not. I gave it a try about a half an hour ago by elimating all the effects and starting from scratch. I added some flames- then rendered-added some more- then rendered. So far it seems to be behaving. But I am still curious what could cause this effect.
Thank you all for your responses,
