Hi!
I am working with FXhome MuzzlePlug and have a big problem with it.
Example:
I've got two guys shooting and used MuzzlePlug 2 times for every gun.
After that After Effects crashes every 2-3 minutes and I can't work properly.
That is not a nice workflow if you got to repeat your adjustments about 15 times before you can save your project without a crash.

Need help. smile
And Yes, I reinstalled MuzzlePlug a few times now.

There are about 30 Shots left, which I got to do with Muzzles.
A solution would be very nice.

Sorry to hear about your crash. Can you tell me some information about your computer and your AE project please?

* What version of Windows are you using? (Including service packs and 32-bit or 64-bit)

* What version of After Effects are you using?

* In After Effects, what project & composition settings are you using?

If possible, can you email your AE project to team@fxhome.com please?

Thank you for your respond and of course I can tell you some information!

First I want to mention, that it crashes nearly always when the saving progress is around 71%:

I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit and Service Pack 1.
But I am installing Service Pack 2 right now, maybe it helps.

After Effects CS4

Project Settings:

I've got a full HD Comp & footage(1920*1080, 25fps, progressive).
My Comp settings you can see here:
The Resolution is set to half to work faster, but it doesn't matter which option is choosed.

The footage is about 100MB, so it is difficult to send it to a mail adresse.
I can replace the video footage and place a picture instead(1 frame) if that helps.

Thanks for the info. Does it only crash when you try and save the project? Or does it crash at any other time(s)?

It doesn't only crash when I try to save, but nearly in 80-90% of the crashes.
Sometimes I can't open those MuzzlePlug Projects, because of my favourite message:

After Muzzleplug startet to crash during my work, I adjusted Auto-Save to 3 Minutes.

I have experience with After Effects as well (minimal), I use CS3.) Anyway though, I think Hendo pretty has it much covered, I was going to ask for that information too... but if it still crashes, probably your best bet would be to contact After Effects directly, via email/phone. I am sure that the AE website contains a support section, if you email them, I think that you can surely get an exact answer.
Anyway though, I am sorry I wasn't too much help, I don't know much about AE, just started with the program.
Honestly though, if you haven't contacted the website at all, do it. Email them... browse the site, something.

Anyway man, good luck, I hope everything works out well. It must be frusturating! Almost done with a project and the software crashes. sad

Good luck!

Thanks for the additional info.

If I understand correctly, the majority of crashes occur when you save your project, but sometimes you get crashes when you open your project.

Is that right? Are there any other times where it will crash, when you're not opening or saving a project?

The reason I ask is that knowing exactly where the crash occurs will help pinpoint the problem.

Adobe can't help me out.
They say it must be a Problem of MuzzlePlug, like you can see in my Screenshots.

"If I understand correctly, the majority of crashes occur when you save your project, but sometimes you get crashes when you open your project."
That is right.

I think there are other times, but I am not sure.
Sorry, the first question I can't answer.

Can you email your .aep file to support@fxhome.com please?

Just send the project file (.aep) -- don't worry about any media like videos or images.

Oddly this just started happening to me also, not sure when the plugin stopped working, however, I added muzzleplug to a project in AECS3 and when I went to save it AE crashed with the same error. I am using Vista64 and CS3 pro 2.0.2.27 Vista64 SP1

With automatic updates on for both vista and CS3 who know when it stopped working. There are very few other prgrams loaded.

If you need any files from me let me know.
