this kind of post often gets a lot of replies... I am filming saturday and am brainstorming skits. I implore you for your ideas/suggestions. Here are the resources: 4-5 actors in cammo face paint, Modern military garb (anything and everything - flak vests, bullet proof vests, belts, handcuffs, etc.), will be using GUU-5Ps (short M16s) but have access to anything else, wooded area with dirt road and small river; also open field, filming time 0700, probably decent weather (ND), blank rounds, vehicles, and, of course, alamdv.

since they're all wearing the same thing, an opposing force would be absent - so I was thinking of using the aircraft PIs to attack them. Would like to do an American vs. terrorist bit but would have to scrounge another actor/costume. Trying to keep it simple for this one. biggrin

How about, The team of the best soldiers are sent to a remote area where an unknown enemy has made contact with another species from another world, they have reason to believe they are constructing or constructed sometype of super weapon hidden in the area that could destroy huge masses of land, its upto the people that you have to find this thing/structure/ship/weapon and either disable it or destroy it, you seem to have a lot of props and stuff so maybe you could have them doing different roles, IE, they are all inserted into this area from different places, they are to meet up eventually , but before they meet they will test their skills getting to the meet up point individually, you could have a scout, the 1st person in to get reconnaisance then bring in 2 soldiers then some demolistionists, the place you land in could have enemy patrols of either human aircraft or unknown flying craft, they all have to work to get past these obstacles with their abilities (cut to gracious action sequences with slo mo and good orchestral music, you could possible lose 1 person or not, but eventually they meet up, get to this super structure and begin on either destroying it or disabling it or whatever smile

sound good ? smile

So you need some ideas for a movie
and SAS film would be really cool you could have a kind of Tom Clancy feel to the move with night vision and stuff - that would be cool

Also if you want added realism i know a site where you can buy legal smoke grenades for only £8 for set of 5 -www.wolfs-lair.couk

hope i have helped

we have night vision goggles and i wanted to use em but it's going to be in daylight - if i do the NVGs, the whole thing will have to be green tinted - as seen from 1st person perspective for everything- no wide shots. maybe later! thanks cool

I have ALWAYS wanted to do a hostage rescue film but have never been able to afford the highly specialist costume and props needed for my elite rescue team. Raider I am very jealous!

If you have to have an invisible enemy how bout a bunch of bad-ass Predator-type dudes who have kidnapped some important government advisor. Perhaps their ship has malfunctioned and the only guy to help them is this whiz scientist. ‘Coz their ship is so wasted they plan to take him with them in cast it breaks down again on their way back to their homeworld. (this bit need not be in the film but is explained as exposition in the briefing [see below])

The film could open with the elite rescue team; a proper bunch of bad-asses. Perhaps we could start with then being briefed in an APC (if you could use one; you are in the army, yeah?). This would be an easy way to explain the back story and set up the tone of the film. Lots of tension as they approach. Then a massive firefight as the aliens spring a trap on them. It would be important for lots of the good guys to get killed horribly by these shimmering aliens to show how scary they are. Lots of blood maybe?

The good guys realise that flash bangs (are they called that in the US?) temporally disable the aliens’ cloaks and make them a bit easier to see. The last couple of good guys left kill the last alien as he is about to self destruct the ship (also cloaked to ease the 3D workload). They rescue the scientist.

Its very cheesy I know, but I think it would be a huge amount of fun!
Sorry if I just went off on one there but I would LOVE to have access to all that kit and got a bit excited!!!

Whatever you decide to do; good luck with it! smile smile

Lol. Mr 'Guest'! Top Secret Info! That was very funny. I just wish I knew who wrote that! wink wink

Mecha': Why no Aliens? And why do you think that was a cool thing to say? Aliens are great fun and that is official. They are real, you know. They took me away once and did funny things to me. Quite liked it, actually.

OH DANG!!! What an idea!!

A military team is sent on a mission to shoot up all these terrorists in some base somewhere . . . They sneak up on the guards swat team style, POW POW! and run inside, schoolin' all the terrorist and when they get to the little laBORitory where the terrorists are makin the bombs and such. . . . mad scinentists!!! They're working in the lab experimenting with fetuses and there are bodies on tables and test tube babies in jars and on cutting boards all over the place. . . . and the scientists are going 'woah don't shoot' in some foreign language and POW POW POW head shots really qucik and efficient swat team style and and they slow down and search the area . . . . and they're goin "whoah what the heck are they doing in this lab?" and one of the military dudes walks over to this body-sized box/chamber and says "hey sarge - take a look." And then sarge walks over and says whats up private and he says 'look at this thing' and there is this close up of the box and there is note on it that says (in english) "completed test 001" and sarge says "well! open it!" so the private reaches down and . . . . .SMASH! a fist rams out of the box all magled and bloody the private, who WAS kneeling, gets knocked back and sarge goes "ah!" and the arm reaches over and lifts the handle and gets open the box and slowly comes out. it's more than an arm. it's a freakin' zombie.

so it bites the private (haha!) and then the team shoots it, the bullets do nothing the private turns into a zombie . . blah blah blah!

the end! cool

PS: put that in your pipe and smoke it!

mecha, you on the coffee? razz seriously - that's good - i was considering doing a resident evil thing - the game where in the beginning they're walking through the field and find the arm and dogs and stuff. boy if i use all this stuff together - now THAT would be action - zombified terroristic aliens who are bent on destroying the world BUT saving the trees...hmm
crazy

ah - the filming... great weather - great "costumes" - had several skits and scenes, just didn't know how to fit em all together. I have a plan - sort of comedy - I think I'm also going to put a music video together. We were kind of in a time crunch and the actors were primarily there for a photo shoot as a going away gift for a plaque - but they were very cooperative with my directing. Shot some pretty cool stuff with the humvee and all - and no one was hurt during the filming - came close a couple of times... Hopefully I'll have something up here soon as my schedule allows! Thanks for all the help! Sorry mecha - there may be one alien - but in a most pleasing way! lol

if interested - some stills are here (link at bottom):

haven't put it together - but these are some ideas
(the thought bubble probably won't be in the final)
