is there a way to crop the size of a video without using a bunch of masks? I'm trying to achieve this effect: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8090m3BmWs&feature=PlayList&p=6C194DDD461D9B6F&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=5

skip to 2:05
Thank you! smile

You should only need to use a single mask for that kind of effect - just a basic square mask down the right side of the screen.

That's 'cause you are trying to manage a composite in a non-compositing program. EffectsLab isn't designed for that sort of thing. It is possible though, using the workaround that is found in the "Cloning in EffectsLab" tutorials. Even though you aren't cloning exactly, the principle for using multiple layers of video is the same one that is used there. There are several tutorials for that, all found in the tutorials forum.
