Do you build or upgrade your own computer? If you do, you've probably got a few old, unused graphics cards lying around.

Rather than leaving them to gather dust, why don't you send them to the FXhome HQ, where we can make use of them for research and development?

In exchange, for every (working!) graphics card on the list that you send us, we'll give you a 20% discount to use in the FXhome.com store and 200 FXperience points.

These are the graphics cards we're looking for in particular:

  • ATI Radeon X1xxx series
  • ATI Radeon HD 2xxx, HD 3xxx, HD 4xxx series
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6 series
  • NVIDIA GeForce 7 series
  • NVIDIA GeForce 8
  • NVIDIA GeForce 9

Please send your unwanted graphics cards to the following address:

FXhome Limited
Henderson Business Centre
Ivy Road
Norwich
Norfolk
NR5 8BF
ENGLAND

Don't forget to include your username and email address so we know who it's from! The 20% discount and FXperience points offer is only available for GPUs posted before September 17.

Click here for a definitive list of which GPUs we're seeking.

(And before you ask, no, we can't tell you why we're collecting graphics cards, as the projects are currently top secret. All will become clear in the fullness of time...)

Hmmm. An interesting request.

But isn't a Geforce 9800GX2 a pretttttyyyy new graphics card to be not using? Most people are upgrading to those cards or similar! wink I just recently picked one up and it is awesome! Can't send that though wink

Whatever is going on must be pretty cool. Can't wait to see it! A new product perhaps?!? hugegrin

I'll see what I can do about some GFX cards. One question though (actually 2)- how much would you estimate for postage from the eastern US? And is the 20% off for one product or multiple ones? Thanks

Can percentages be combined? As in, five old cards = 100%?

Heh, indeed, we don't expect to receive many 9 series, but thought we might as well put it on the list anyway. razz

I'll get malone to answer your questions about how the discount system works.

You would get 5 discount codes you could use against different purchases - you wouldn't get 100% off! The discount code works on your total basket price, not a single product.

Does the 20% work if it is already discounted? If you buy Vision Lab and you have both Effects Lab Pro and Composite Lab Pro, do you get all the discounts and the 20% or not? Also do you you have to buy the the products by the September deadline, or can you can you keep the discount for later?

I know I've asked a lot of questions, any answers would be helpful.

Thanks,

The 20% voucher will apply to the final basket price. So yes, it also applies to any upgrade discount prices, or any other promotion we are running. As long as no other vouchers are involved.

The voucher will not expire, you can hang on to it for as long as you want.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I have a graphics card from 1998. Would that still be a valid send-in?

Do you think it would be? My guess is the graphics card has to be on the list above, or at the very least a typical card that people use for media creation today. I could be wrong, but I don't think Fxhome would be overly concerned in ensuring they support cards from 1998. It would be damn impressive if they could get their products to work on it, though razz
