How can you change an actor's skin color like they do in the video demos for the compositelab pro?

I think for that demo they used lots of rotoscoped masking to isolate the skin areas, and then some heavy grading to shift the color.

But if you want someone's skin to be another color, use make-up. Its easier, way faster, and it will likely look better.

green screen my friend
Erm, care to explain how on earth a greenscreen would be of any use to change an actors skin color? unsure

Axeman is spot on. Rotoscoping or Make-Up is the answer. And, depending on the number of shots, MakeUp will be the much easier solution!

well the reason I'm asking i guess is simply because Fxhome showed that you could do that. Is there a way that I can choose the color of my skin to be turned into a different color by using the tools? Or did they just show to show it?

They showed it to demonstrate the possibilities of what the software is capable of. There isn't a "change a person's skin color" button, if that's what you are asking. You have to manually draw a mask around all the areas of exposed skin on your actor for each frame, then use grading filters to shift the hue. So you do use the tools, yeah.
