Finally, the trailer for the long awaited RedFruit is here.

What is RedFruit? Basically, its an action/thriller.

The concept: things going boom and guns going bang. | The Plot: NONE.

That's the beauty of this project. You don't have to worry about some mumbo jumbo crap story that hollywood has plagued you in. You just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Not happy? Want a plot. Fine. I'll pull one out of my ass like most action writers...let's see. Stiletto, an assassin who's always in control, is going after something very special and important. Lo and behold, Daugherty and his team are also there and mean to stop him...but Stiletto is prepared...as usual.

Anyway, I've uploaded two versions, one is a high resolution the other is low, so people on 56k can also view it.

1.85:1 Widescreen
Mpeg4 Audio
Sorenson 3 Pro Video

As always, Quicktime 6 is required to view it properly.

It was good, even though I didn't really understand it tard

Why is it called Red Fruit? Anyways, the music was cool and the effects were neat. nice job, I think.

Splendid camera work and editing biggrin I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I felt that excerpts from the gun battles (and explosions, if any) should have been included in the trailer. That would've made a huge impact (pun intended) smile

I really like the title... :)

The trailer is very well edited. That was very impressive.
but I actually missed some type of story or at least a "who is who", so I couldn't really live with the action (cause I didn't know who were the bad guys and who were the good guys). :(

What I liked most was the title sequence with the apple... That was very well done and a very creative idea!

Good job! Looks good. Was that a Vancouver number 10 Bibby jersey I spotted or am I just an over zealous vancouverite? If it is, are you from vancouver?

Good work very good editing very creative with the B&W then shifting to colour while fading. Some spots seemed a bit corny… like when the guy was wearing the old army suit with the funky sunglasses try getting the new dot matrix camo standard in the canadian army it looks sweet where the guy opens up the bag that is very cool, the tittle is awsome loose the pretty house in the background try using some colour correction or gels to give the footage a more "dire" look because like al new dv cameras the colours are to bright and when the guy jumped out of the tree he wasn't high up enough or well concealed enough sop the other guy woulkd have notice to make it more dramatic just make him jump from higher.

Thanks for the comments.

I know there are only like two alam effects in the trailer, but the actual vid has alot of em in there.

SFB: thanks, i tried wink

The titles and everything were done in premiere. well, i made the stills in photoshop, but animated in premier.

The way I did the black and white to color isn't that hard. here's a little tutorial:

1) Get ur clip (already cut) ready. (The full length of it).
2) Now, copy it, and place it directly under the top one to the exact frame. 3) On the first clip, put a B&W filter on it.
4) Cut the first clip in so that it where it ends is the place it comes back to color.
5) Cut the beginging of the 2nd clip the same way.
6) add Cross Dissolve.
7) then just add a black fade through transperency like I did.

that's it.
Here's a screen.

av11d: there is a reason its called redfruit...but u just gotta wait for that wink

moebius: i debated whether i should add actual excerpts from the battles or not, but decided not to. (obviously) my reasoning is because it doesn't really look good in bits. the gunfight can only be viewed as a whole.

Sollthar: thanks. its cool having the great sollthar comment on my work wink the reason you missed any story was because there is no story (read the description).

timoteobc: its a basketball jersey with 00 on the back. im pretty sure its the actors school team jersey, don't remember. and im located in toronto

Phage: I did do quite a bit of color correction, you woudl easily notice it if you saw the original footage. only thing i forgot to do was gamma correction, which i am doin on the actual thing. as for the costumes, i used whatever i could find wink as for the tree, the reason he didn't see him was because he was behind the tree before he jumped...which is not seen in the trailer.

b4uask: (is there a name i can call you by? its really weird saying "b4uask30male")...i thought people would like the apple bit. I had the idea with the bullet and the blood, and i would like to give a big thanks to otteypm for taking my idea and animating it so that i can use it.

Thanks again for the nice comments.

I was torn between a 3 and a 4 for this one.

Ultimately I went with a 3.

The green cards always piss me off, for a start. Especially when they stay on screen for a bizarre length of time. smile

Choice of music and colour fades are very nice. Is it original music or just well-chosen?

The location lets it down quite a bit. Of course, if it had a story then there might be a reason for the comfy-looking house in the background. But if it's just a killfest, then it would have been nicer to avoid the house and make it look more like a wild area, at least for the trailer.

The shot of the bag opening and revealing the guns is just fantastic.

The main title with the apple is nicely thought out, but could have done to be a bit snappier. It hangs around for a little too long either side not doing anything.

It's good stuff, it just had a few niggles that I couldn't get past.

I'm looking forward to the full thing, though. It looks very promising.

The music is original, though its blended from two tracks which were sent to me.

The location has the houses in the background for a reason...its not supposed to be a wild area.

i added the green card cuz i think its funny, and i made it stay for either 4 or 5 seconds so ppl could read it.

The 3d red friut was splended!.. with the blood.. Wich software did you use?

And it was kind of funny to.. Plot: NONE! lol
It's like our "internet" movies... hehe.

I gave it a 4.. same reason as moebius.

(PS! i wrote this yesterday.. but my internet connection got all crazy!)

The apple was done in Cinema 4D, using Pyrocluster for the vapour effects. Particles and a metaball modifier was used for the blood. smile

I tought that was pretty good, it'd have been nice to see more action in there. It looks good otherwise, although the problem was I am still wondering who the guy in shorts was. A little cheesy, but it was supposed to be. Still pretty good.
