3) Downloads temporary folder (okay).
4) Unidentif. Publisher warning comes up (I allow).
5) Application Installer comes up.
6) Welcome comes up (next).
7) I agree to terms.
8) Choose components (they are checked all ready). I hit next.
9) Choose Install location- local disk (c:) FXhomePro location.
10) space required: 70.7 MB....Space available 60.7 GB. (?)
11) Partial load then, "Can not write to file C:\Program Files\FXhome EffectsLab Proo\Xtras\Arca.x32." Please check filesystem and try again.

Have you uninstalled the previous version of EffectsLab? That could be the problem.

Does the user account you are installing from have full admin access to your computer?

Sounds like you've still got EffectsLab running in the background. You can't update the software while it's still open.

Hello all,

To answer all your questions:

Do I need to uninstall the previous version?

I have full admin access to my computer.

When I call up FXhomeEffectsPro it asks me to update, and I work from there. I am not running a separate program aside from that.

Thanks for you response.

Yeah, the problem is that you've called up EffectsLab. Once the update has downloaded and you start the update, you need to close EffectsLab before continuing.

That's very odd. The only reason the installer wouldn't be able to write to those files that I'm aware of is if they're already being accessed - which would only happen if the software is running.

I'd recommend running through these checks and then going through a full clean reinstall:

There are several things to check:

* Install the software to an account on your computer that has full administrator permissions and access.
* Run the software from the same account it is installed to.
* Disable the 'FileVault' system (Mac only).
* Try fixing your permissions using Disk Utility (Mac only).

After checking the above points, please try performing a clean reinstall exactly as described here:
