I have an idea for a better Matrix core effect. In the movie, the trail didn't really fade back like the "Matrix Core" plugin does, rather looks like purple translucent circles and the circles get bigger and then smaller in groups of about 3. Here's an example:

Also, could someone tell me how to use the plugger? I don't understand how to work it. That's it! cool

I believe the Matrix core effect in the movie was created with 3D shapes set to transparent with refraction. Since the shapes refracted the actual background, I don't know that you could ever really capture that look with an AlamDV plugin.

Of course, I would love to be proven wrong... wink

Yeah - alamdv cannot refract the background, and so, cannot create a good looking matrix core bullet thingy effect...

U may be able to achieve it with another program, or make a plug-in urself, by distorting the footage, and trying to use that - won't come out very well though i doubt...

I saw an extremely good example of Matrix effects in tutorial for 3dsmax (bullet trail, bending spoon). The trail was made using particles (lens shaped, transparent with a lot of refraction calculations). Unfortunately, 3dsmax is needed and... this book with tutorials is in Polish language wink

i'll just throw this out there for discussion, i'll look it up later, but - can after effects' particle playground be assigned properties of translucency and refraction? - that would work if so.
