Hey all

Just completed my Heroes teleporting effect last night with a simple "cut" technique that I was tought by some character around here BUT...in fast moving backgrounds this "cut" will be easily noticed.

Can somebody with a kind and loving heart please help me with the green screen side of it, for fast backgrounds. I would like detailed...DETAILED step by step instructions for the green screening of this effect.

In the previous post someone told me how to do it but in such a way that I did not understand and it was very short. Im new to filming, just started this year so please, be nice. I would post my teleporting clip on the website but Im scared some pedophile sees me and tries to hunt me down.

Detailed help would be massively appreciated!

Ban Danna

PS: Can somebody please just give me a little bit of FXperience? I just want enoungh for an avatar, so that my profile looks nice. I will really appreciate it.

Hey,
I am assuming you have a greenscreen? You best option would be to have a stationary camera. One that is set on a tripod or something. But if your intent on doing a greenscreen, here's how.
1. film you're actor doing his stuff. Use the key difference tool to key out the green (this is done by changing the white level slider. Place him onto the background you want (Try this article. Get everything just how you wan't it right to the point where he disappears. Then use the crop tool and crop off everything after the frame where you wan't him to disappear. Ater that point the actor won't appear on any more frames after he disappears. I would recomend using a preset like the Bamf v1 to mask parts of it that don't look good.
P.S. Use your brothers profile. You can change the name, and details. Download presets, change your avatar, etc. Noone will ever know the difference.

1. Shoot the background as normal (ie, without the actor).

2. Shoot your actor in front of a well lit greenscreen.

3. Remove the greenscreen using VisionLab (the auto colour difference key will do the trick).

4. Place the greenscreen layer on top of the background layer.

5. At the appropriate point, turn off the greenscreen layer.

Lots of young people have posted movies on FXhome.com (and elsewhere) without running into any trouble with dodgy characters, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. smile

Tarn is right. No ones gonna criticize you because of bad acting or a bad hair day. Looking at the clip would help alot.

I forgot to mention: Please don't start a new topic everytime you have a new question about this same shot. It's best to just reply in your original topic. I'll let it go this time round. smile

This is also a good point. If your brother isn't using his account anymore, ask him for the login details and then update the details so it can be your account.

That's unfair how you guys come up with one liners like that...
Anyway, Ban Danna about FXperience we all start somewhere. Buying products is a great way but it appears that won't work for you. Go ahead and create some good presets (I got lucky, one of friends has V-lab and let me submit his) be active on the forum. Everyone will rate good informative posts (Which turns into FXperience). EVeryone (Except for Tarn, bless his heart) started at the bottom.
P.S. out of curiosity what's your brothers name and/or fxhome username.

Wes, If I say his name he will come after me I swear! I dont know his username but his name is Carl and he is what I like to refer to as a half destroyed spacecraft LOL!!!! biggrin

Okay that didnt make sense but still.

Oh and Wes, about the purchasing of FXhome products; I would love to but unfortunatly I dont live in your country so if I wanted to buy a product I would most likely have to sell my house neutral

But thanx for being so "KIND" and "GENEROUS" I really............................dont appreciate it and you're really not helping... frown

I get the picture about your bro. And how long till he's outta the house?

I am assuming you were being sarcastic when you said you don't appreciate it. But just so you know, for most part that kind of jokin earns you negative ratings. Just so you know.

And about the different country issue which country do you live in. FXhome offers currecy exchange in it's store. smile

Is there any other way I can get fxperience so that I can get an avatar? I just want an avataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar! Oh and who is Tarn? Is he like one of the people that made the FXhome products or something? Oh and who is the pedophile here anyway? neutral

Oh and I checked the fxhome stor and they only support trhee currencies, Us Dollars, Euro's and Pounds! None of which my country uses! You are evil!

I get the picture. You have an evil brother (who created the universe) who won't let you use his account, and you need FXperience for an avatar.
We'll I've got bad news. For a full sized avatar you need 800 FXperience. That equates to 80 positive post ratings. There are only about 50-75 people here who have a full size avatar. And less that 20 of them got that much without buying a product. But go ahead and post on the forums. Provide advice. If you give good reliable advice people will most likely rate your posts (which turns into FXperience). Or create some presets.
P.S. Tarn is an FXhome team member who manages the website, store, etc. (I think). He is the embodiment of awesomeness and is in the forums alot.
Anyway best of luck. And I'll see about some FXperience on my part.

Hey Wes

Thanx for trying to help me and Im sorry if I was mean to you confused
I dont mind if I cant have a full sized avatar, I just want something to define me biggrin

The problem about the whole giving advice thing, how can I give advice if I hardly know anything about this stuff? Im new here, I will try to make nice presets and see where that takes me, I will also try to give advice where I can unsure

Thanx again though.

No one will give you FXperience. You'll have to earn it. If you can't, stop whining about it. It's just annoying.
If you stay long enough and be a valued member of the community, eventually, you'll earn enough FXperience for an avatar.

A second thing: My country doesn't use Dollars, Euros or pounds either. But that doesn't really matter since there's such a thing as "conversion". You pay in dollars and that gets coverted to whatever currency you use. Works like that everywhere in the world.

Hey,
I would recommend learning the software before making presets. The tutorials are a great place to start.

Hey Wes

I'm just a bit pissed at Sollthar for his lack of understanding and, if I were a nuclear bomb I think I know who I'd go visit! twisted
Nobody said he had to read my posts anyway.

Oh and Wes, lets just say I live in a country in Africa. Im not going to be precise because "SOME" people can use satelites and track me down biggrin

But yeah so thats my story... unsure

I sense some anger management issues here... They're an interesting add to the paranoia you show in most of your other posts. Hopefully you'll learn to get that under control some day. I keep my fingers crossed for you.

Too late. I already have. I've bought my tickets, and am coming to murder your pets tomorrow. After I get out of a church meeting, that is.

But seriously, if someone wanted to go through that much trouble, they could tell exactly where you live right now with a simple IP scan. If you want our help your gonna have to (1.) stop acting like an idiot by insulting our members, and (2.) stop being so paranoid.

Thrawn and Sollar are right. It's being silly to make a big fuss over where in the world you live. Are you afraid were gonna excommunicate you? Did you do something illegal? None ones gonna kick you off because of how you look or talk. FXhome has a huge base of thousands of people. people of all races and genders. The only reason your gonna get picked on or mocked is if your being utterly ridiculous. If you a help to the community "pedophile" will like you. FOr all of us here it didn't hap[pen overnight. Many of us handed over hard earned money or slaved away in he forums. You got visionlab without paying anything so be happy. If you talk about nuclear bombs and say mean things, even if your joking people aren't gonna like it. It's simple.
Disclaimer: Don't take what I said personal. Think of it as a suggestion. It takes trial and error to know what to do when chewed-out/corrected/insulted. I learned my lesson the hardway.
Anyway good luck with the heroes thing.

When in doubt, listen to Michael Bluth. "You know what you do? You buy yourself a tape recorder, you just record yourself for a whole day. I think you’re going to be surprised at some of your phrasing."

...or maybe this whoooole thing is a (very weird) translation issue?

Yeah, I can already tell whereabouts in Africa you are if I want, just by clicking a couple of buttons. smile

If you want to stay anonymous, stay off the web, don't ever have a bank account, and never vote. Or use a telephone. Best to sell your computer, too.

Or, you could stop worrying about such things and just get on with your life. smile Although a little paranoia is useful in some cases, generally people aren't out to get you and generally aren't interested in you in the slightest. So you don't have to worry.

Ok Everyone!

Listen up! Im paranoid because this is EARTH! If you turn your back someone sticks a knife in it! There is no safe place on this planet! So dont give me this "paranoid" stuff cause I have a good reason to be! I live in a country where crime is pretty much a show in the streets ok!

Maybe I am concerned if someone finds out were I am over the internet! It happens all the time! But yeah, Im done venting for the day. Oh and Sollar, thank you for keeping your fingers crossed for me, its really sweet... oink

I dont care if people pick on me or mock me here cause clearly they have'nt seen Ban Danna in action, I can say things that will make people go and commit suicide! cool

Oh and Rogolo, go drown yourself

Thank you all for your "wonderful" and "polite" posts its really nice to know that there are still "good" people in the world smile

Wes! You are just teaming up with the rest cause your scared of them, traitor! sad

Oh and thanx Tarn, you seem to be the only one with brains here biggrin

Okay, let's do a fresh start, but with an honest intro:

I don't know what life is like where you are and I don't know what you have experienced. Whatever it might be, this is fxhome and not your city. Here on fxhome, we try to treat each other with respect and be polite. No one will stick a knife in your back and no one will steal anything from you. But people here are also honest and will call you out for misbehavior. Sometimes we might miss the mark, happens to everyone - and my apologies if it happened to me in your case - but generally, this is how it works here, how we want it to work and how we moderators make sure it does work. A certain behavioral code, if you will.

If you can deal with that, then that's fine and you're very welcome in this community and you'll find that it does work differnt then whatever your used to and it is a friendly place.

If that's something you can't deal with and if throwing out angered insults like "drown yourself" is the only reaction you're capable of - independent of where you are and who you are, then fxhome isn't the right place for you and you should better stick to those crime streets.

Btw, my girlfriend has relatives in the south african region. Judging by your IP, that's more or less where you're located.

So again, I apologize if you took what I said the wrong way. I could have phrased it less blunt no doubt.

Alright Sollthar

Apology accepted and Im sorry if I was mean but Rogolo deserved it! He was mean so I was mean back, an eye for an eye. I will try to be less paranoid but its who I am. What Im trying to say is that Im sorry and will try to calm down. The others mus'nt then incite me!

Hmmmmmm.......
